Fender Rumble Club

So, I was practicing last night using the aux in and headphones with some backing tracks. I started messing with overdrive and different tones. After a few minutes I started hearing a pretty heavy hum. I switch the cables, still there. I unplugged the aux in and headphones. Still there. I then noticed the humming stopped when I place my fingers on the pots of my fender dimension. This led me to believe its not in my 500c. Does this sound like I need to ask questions about my fender dimension, or is it possibly something in my 500c?

Yep, that's a grounding issue with your Dimension. Since you de-fretted it yourself the warranty is void, so just find a local technician and hope that it's something simple.
Awesome! I was hoping it wasn't the 500c. Yea, the defretting was a bourbon induced decision with my mates one weekend. I love how it sounds, but eventually fully expected to regret it. Hmmm, so defretting can cause grounding issues or the fact that I defretted myself means it also cancels my warranty on electronics?

Yes, the defretting voided your warranty. If you actually needed something like a new pre-amp from Fender that would be quite expensive and only available through an authorized service center. Everything else would be readily available off the shelf parts.

Don't beat yourself up. Chances are it's a very simple fix with re-soldering a joint or a new bit of wire. Just a matter of chasing it down.
Cool. Just started playing it again last couple of weeks. No problems. I did lower the pickup yesterday, I guess that's something I might need to add. Played fine for a couple of hours. I think I'll take it to an authorized center for a looky loo.

I knew it would happen - the "want" indeed overwhelmed the "need" (in my best Nipsey Russel/Geraldine Jones voice - "the TB made me do it"). ;)

The second Rumble 410 cab just arrived. It was an "open box" special, so will give it a good functional check when it gets home (visually everything is up to par). A picture of the new addition, with the rest of the rig, will be posted on Sunday, provided it works as it should and the weather cooperates. I see a new avatar in my future....

Cheers,

:woot: WOOT! :woot: I am pretty sure this is going to make you our first dual Rumble 410 member. @tedsalt has a pair of Bassman Pro Neo 410's, but has moved on to other heads. @ODDBALL had a pair of Rumble 410's but sent one back. So I think that leaves you, @WRM! :hyper:  Remain Calm And Rumble On!

i'm thinkin about getting another rumble 410 at some point, but i may get a 210 instead, i'm not sure. i wish fender would do a rumble 410 or 610 HLF cab at 4ohms. i haven't had a bass stack since 2004, it may be time to change that!

The Rumble 210 would be tantamount to putting a Rumble 500 combo on top of a Rumble 410. A second Rumble 410 is only $50 more than the Rumble 210.

The Fender Bassman Pro Neo 610 (4 ohms) is $1,400 Invalid Link Removed

By changing out woofers you could reconfigure your existing Rumble 410 to 4 ohms which would cost about the same as buying a second Rumble 410. The choice is yours!
