Fender Rumble Club

For fair comparison to 1X410 a couple weeks ago, had EQ/Master pretty much at noon, OD and gain ~11. Felt/heard the house shaking - way loud(er), my ears are still ringing :D Me likey!

Cheers,

Just got back from playing with some new people. The Rumble 500 combo was so easy
to load in and out of the car, single handedly through doorways and stairways, it takes
a good bit of the disapointment out of knowing those peoplewon't likely be a good fit for
my project.
Love that amp!

Kind of a strange yet such a valid reason to get one. You can make a quick easy getaway with Rumble! I like it!:D

Great Photo!
My old Nikon Coolpix w/mini-tripod. Had trouble getting it aimed high enough (propped up the front legs with my 4" Chris Reeves), and it took several attempts using the timer function. Avatar photo was same set-up with camera moved farther away, but this one had better detail.

My ears are still ringing slightly, so I must remember to be careful with this rig. At the time, I didn't realize how loud it really was - I spent a lot of time around the amp trying different settings, but didn't play all that long - only for a half hour with the P Bass special (Active P/J). And there was a lot more available (NO knobs were past noon).

In a thread last week someone recommended the "Teach Me Bass Guitar" course, so I checked it out, liked it, and ordered it. I skipped to the back, where Roy talks about amps/cabinets, and he basically said you only need an 8X10 rig for a Stadium type event. After trying one, I'm inclined to agree. Bring it on - I ain't askeerd :D

Cheers,

Me? Never, but there's a first time for everything. ;) HS Orchestra did play the St. Louis Symphony Hall once (w/o amplification).

I don't mean to scare anyone away from a 2X410 rig, but I believe it will be more than I need for the time being (that "want" vs. "need" thing again). It should be fine for smaller stuff, too, will just keep that "Master" knob dialed back a bit. Some say 'tis better to have and not need, then need and not have, no?...

Cheers,

I searched, but can't seem to find a club for those of us who use and love the Fender Rumble series of amps. Any interest?

I've been playing at home with my Rumble 30 since late January and it seems to me like this amp puts out a good share for being so small! Originally I was looking at the Rumble 15 but went with the 30 because of the extra input jack, more wattage, and I read online reviews which said the 30 would be good enough to play with a band in a small venue even versus the 15 which didn't have as much bang.

Hope to hear form some fellow Rumble fans soon! :D

So this makes me the founding member, #1? I feel this is a big honor for someone so new on the forum!

Just picked up a rumble 40 this weekend.

Enjoying it so far. I really don't think this weighs the rated 18lbs...feels like 10 to me.

sounds good with my son playing his 200...as long as he doesn't piss of mom and cranks it up...but being 17 I can still ground him if he drowns me out.

Glad you are enjoying your new Rumble 40. Does your son have a Rumble 200?
:D Rumbles Rule! :D

There are several Rumble Club members that have done exactly that and reality is that a Rumble 500 combo on top of a Rumble 410 cabinet works quite well despite what the the math may add up to. The whole is always something other than the some of its parts. In this case it is more.

While I am sure that the result is something louder than that of a single 500c and doesn't sound bad, I simply cannot believe that a 10" driven by 125 watts can sound the same as a 10" driven by 63 watts. There has got to be variance in terms of timbre and SPL, especially as the volume increases.

I agree, better to have it and not need it rather than the other way around. I’m fully confident that I can hang with a loud group of musicians, but I am happy that I don’t have to.

Mathematics and, in particular, sound engineering, are the Devil's work.

I just became the owner of a V3 Rumble 15 today, got a great deal on one off Kijiji. Plugged it in, sounded better than I expected. Hey, I get its 'only' a 15w practice amp, but it gets loud, and has nice, deep lows and crisp highs. Sounds much better than the old Peavy practice amp I has years back. I sold it because I lived in a condo and had noise complaints, but now that I'm in a house, I can turn up again!

Here's a family shot of the 15, my 100t head, and 63' AVRI P.
