Fender Rumble Club

I suppose it's time to join the club. Bought a Rumble 500 Combo last year (March?), and picked up a 210 cabinet last month. I'm taking the full setup out for its first gig this coming Saturday.

Have not read all 9000+threads but has anybody dimed out the V3 rumble 500 head& 410s? This is my next purchase;Just wondering.
Better consult @WRM
My long time friend Randy had not yet heard the R500 (R40 many times), so after chores (moved & spread 20T rock), we took it outside w/both 410s for a demo. He couldn't believe how good it sounded and how loud it was (I still haven't taken the "master" past noon), and I'm more impressed every time I hear it. We tried many extreme EQ settings on both R500 and the Pbass special - incredible range of frequency/tone control. To my ear, the Pbass "Mid" knob gets the "crown" as the single most "influential". Set-up/take down is quick and easy. Really liking these Rumbles! :D

TB caused GAS again (SCR-DI is on the way), so appreciate the Effects/Amp info - hadn't yet tried it. ;)

Cheers,

A bit more to add to Saturday's Rumble demo report, I'll try to keep it short.

Dad lives on the hill across from me, about 650 yards away, with a county road running through the valley between us. Randy wondered if he could hear it, I figured "yes", if he was outside, and even thought about calling over there so he could listen for it, but did not. He came over yesterday afternoon, so I asked him if he was around on Saturday about 2:30 - 3. He said he was inside reading, and when I told him about the Bass, he said "Yeah, I heard that - thought 'someone's having a party'".

So, it was loud enough that a hearing-impaired 80 year old man noticed it while inside his house, 650 yards away.... :D

Cheers,

I'm dying and trying to a/b the 500c with the 210 ext cab vs the 500 head and 410 cab.But everytime I go to g-c it's one thing or another,it seems I'll have to go on convenience of moving gear rather than sound, but I know I can't go wrong either way.rumbles with g.a.s is a good pain to have.

I would most definitely go with a pair of 210's whether it be a Rumble 500 combo plus Rumble 210 cabinet or a Rumble 500 head plus a pair of Rumble 210 cabinets. I'd only use a 410 cab in pairs in order to move maximum air and achieve maximum Sound Pressure Level.
My personal bias is in favor of twin 112 cabinets. Small/compact size, and light weight, yet big deep tone. I'd pop a Rumble 500 head on top of a pair of V3 Rumble 112 cabinets faster than you could say  Rumbles Rock! :smug:

Looks awesome! I was just curious as to why you went with the 2x10s over the 1x15? I have the 500c, and looking to see which of the extension cabs to get.

I was split between getting the 1x15 or 2x10. After quite a bit of reading and research I settled on the 2x10. I like the symmetry, and I think the 2x10 can move a little more air than the 1x15 (might be wrong on that). It's almost a pleasure moving my setup around.

In preparation for our gig coming up this weekend, my bandmates asked if I could turn up the volume during practice this week. How often do you hear that?
If they are deaf, I can hear it, the drummer of the band, can't hear the bass properly when I turn the tone control down, when I turn the volume up he hears something strange, he loves treble, without treble, he cannot hear.
That's the problem, sometimes when you play with people who have played too much loud all along their career.

I have a 500 Combo, and both the 210 & 115 extension cabs. I am an old school rock bassist, who always used 15's in the past, usually 2-15 cabs. But I have to say that to my old ears, the combo sounds much better & tighter with the 210 extension cab than with the 115 cab. Don't know if I can "define" it, but adding the 115 seems to mussy it up a bit. The double 210 cabs have more than enough bass, while still being articulate.
But we all have different preferences, and you should really try them both, see what you prefer.
