Fender Rumble Club

Hey good Rumble people! 6 weeks ago I broke my wrist and so I couldn't play anymore (nor do a lot of other things) :(
The cast came off a week ago and after some exercises to make it flexible again, I finally tried playing again today.
And it went better than I expected! :):hyper:

To celebrate that, here is another picture of my modded 100V3 and 210V3:

So I wasn't playing last night, but went to pickup my daughter at work There was a band setting up in the center. I noticed right away the bass player carry his Fender Rumble 100 on stage, so figured I would hang out. They had a 4 member band guitar, bass, keys and drums the township supplied the pa. Bass took a direct line out. Ok so they start playing country stuff (today's) The bass wasn't making off the stage 5ft it was gone. I have this amp and have used it with my 5 member Classic Rock band. So I was surprised until I walked over and check out his settings bass 10, mids - 10 treble 12 ouch the bedroom setting. I didn't have time to help him out, but anyone gigging with this amp crank the Mids roll off the bass and you will cut through the mix. Because even with Pa support the bedroom setting doesn't cut through live. RTS

Used my 200c with the 112 ext cab for my gig last night. By itself, the 200c gets loud, with the extra cab, it's a whole other beast. Great tone, cut through the mix well, vintage engaged, bass high noon, mids at 1:00, and treble cut just a bit. Jazz bass neck pup at 50% and bridge pup at 80%, tone at 60%.
Competing with two guitars, keys and drums...... No problem.... Thanks Rumble!

This weekend is our city's Lion's Club fish fry and carnival. Includes bands on an outdoor stage.

When I arrived yesterday, the trio on stage had the bass player on a P-bass going to a Rumble 500 combo. I couldn't tell a whole lot as the Rumble was mic'd (not DI) to FOH and all I could hear was the FOH mix. Sounded fine.

I still took the opportunity after the set to congratulate the bass player on his excellent choice of amps!

I was introduced to the Rumble series while checking out some basses at a local Guitar Center, the tone was impressive in the little Rumble 15, this was the older style. I figured for low volume practice it would be perfect. I've been putzing around with the class D amp circuit boards and built a small 50w/channel stereo for the living room. Then the V3 Rumble came out, I sold the Rumble 15 and purchased the 40 with the class D amplifier. Under 20 pounds was a bonus.

I started thinking about the efficiency of this technology and being un-impressed with the sound of the Roland Bass Cube as an off road amplifier I considered putting together an off road power source for the 40. I contacted Fender Tech Support and asked about the power requirement for the 40, the tech said about 45 watts. Did some calculations and figured a 400 watt inverter with a sealed deep cycle 12 amp battery would give me 28 to 32 hours of of power between recharge.

I'm about 7 hours into the initial charge at 1/2-3/4 volume, not keeping a log, just putzing around. I have ordered a low power battery charge monitor to throw in the mix, Nice Jeep/sail boat amp. I may even pick up another 15 or build one from the TPS 3116 class D circuit board, I may need the space saving smaller amp on the sail boat.

Stop it! Stop it! I have myself convinced I don't need an extension cabinet for my 200. Not listening. La la la la la.......not hearing anything.....:D
