Oh and personally, I don't care for passive at all.. sometimes passive pups.. but with a active pre.. like the K-HAZ or a Tone Capsule..

The fender actives I don't like are passive pickups with active eq. All my active basses also have passive pickups, though I am not sure about the Bart mkI on the ibanez. Still like that one the least regardless.

Now it is possible it is the noiseless fender pickups, or that every deluxe/elite I have tried has had dead strings, but then again, this was a different kind of dead.

I like my fenders passive.

Bloody Hell! I love this site Linnin as I find your information, and wise words extremely helpful. I've only been learning Bass for 9 Months and got my Rumble in June, and now this kick in the guts. As others have expressed, I too feel extremely sad for you and wish you and your family only the very best. You also will be in my thoughts and prayers, but as we know God has his/her own agenda. Thank-you very much for your contribution to my life during my short time on what I consider to be Your thread. We will continue to "Rumble On" with You.
