Fender Rumble Club

It's definitely tragic.
Not sure of insurance laws in the US, but how can one run a business without insurance? Is it because Florida is in a hurricane zone, that you can't get hurricane coverage?

He just opened the studio officialy about 2 months ago. It is on his private property in a separate building from his home. From what I understand, he was under the impression that he had insurance covered by his home owners insurance. Don't quote me on that, it is just an assumption.
And what I'm hearing, the insurance companies are claiming these are "flood" damages, not hurricane damage and many dont have flood insurance. So now the insurance companies are using dirty tricks to not pay. Even doing it to high end restaurants, attractions and hotels. The insurance companies arent understanding that there would be no flood without that hurricane! I see a lot of lawsuits in the future.

On a side note, local news is running a story on Lou and Fishtank Recordings tomorrow. If you are interested, it should be on their website sometime tomorrow evening I'm sure. First Coast News, FCN.Com I think. They are both the local NBC and ABC affiliate.

Florida should be suing these low life insurance companies. If you aren't in an official flood zone you cannot get flood insurance through the Federal Govt.

Thanks for that. Yeah, if there's a way to screw someone, insurance companies will find it.

So, I haven't posted here in a while, but I have a gig report some of you may be interested in. Last weekend I played a medium sized club with limited space for the band. I couldn't bring the SB300 and 6X10, so I used my Rumble 500 head and 2 Rumble 2X8 cabs, stacked vertically, of course! Well, I'm happy to report this rig performed flawlessly! I used my Lakland 55-94 and the little cabs delivered tight, punchy bass and great B string response! I was very pleased with the sound and I got many compliments from the crowd. So mission accomplished!

I'm a guitar player who's just picked up a short scale (MIJ Mustang) bass to give it a go. I've been using my Deluxe Reverb for practice at home due to lack of a bass amp; it sounds better than I hoped at low volumes, on the 5th fret or higher. It sounds as bad as I expected on low notes, so I knew that a dedicated bass amp would be needed.

Although 95% of my playing is at home, that other 5% is with friends in various garage-type get togethers. I liked the idea of a Rumble 100 because of the smaller size (vs 200 or 500 combo), but if I start playing bass more with others I was unsure if I'd kick myself for getting an underpowered amp.

This morning I saw a Rumble 500 combo "demo" on Sweetwater that's new, but with a damaged box. WTH, I thought, and pulled the trigger. It'll be next week before I get it and plug in, so I'm not quite ready for a Rumble Club # yet, but I wanted to thank everyone for all of the informative posts that help me decide what to buy.

In case anyone has seen my ad selling a Rumble 500 combo, I've not jumped ship! I still have my Rumble 500 V3 head, a V3 210 cab, and some other Rumble gear. I just don't use it all together and decided to sell that and a Squier Jazz to make way for some other gear. Shhh, my wife might be listening!

Safe and sound! Praise God. Thanks for the prayers. Only minor damage to my properties. My dock floated away and my catwalk fell in the river. However--I was there and saw it happening and attached my boat anchors and chain--so the dock only made it about 100 yards up river. I winched the catwalk back up with 2 come-alongs and got it all back in place and rafted out to dock and paddled it back. 13 foot tide! Many of my neighbors got it bad though.

Several friends are serious river rats. They get hit every 5 or 10 years. Anything from floating docs floating away to a house filled with river sand. They cope and move on. The river has them by the heart... or the balls. The clean river is off a hydro dam and they get minor problems all the time. Big muddy flood less, but when it does it goes large.
