Fender Rumble Club

Hi, everyone. I'm not really using Rumbles anymore, and by that, I mean, I sold everything that wasn't my stage amps when I needed (heh, needed) to buy the last of the American Standard basses for $200 off. So my Rumble 40 went, too, and I'm just using my stage amp + a micro cabinet as my practice amp now. Actually, I'm mostly using my Yamaha THR10 to practice now.

So I guess I'm just a legacy member now? Those were two excellent years with the Rumble lineup, though. I've had the Rumble 40, the Rumble 200, the Rumble 500, the Rumble 1x12" cab, the Rumble 1x15" cab. All of these are excellent products. They helped me find my sound and when I switched out of Fender, it wasn't because they lacked quality; it was because I wanted specific things on the specs sheet that Fender doesn't do. So I shall always cherish the times we had. :D

(And really, I sold my last Fender amp to buy another Fender bass. I have 5 guitars and 3 basses now. I have 3 Fender guitars, 2 Fender basses, a Squier bass, and one of my guitars is a custom build with a Fender neck so it's got the Fender logo on it. So yeah, I still got plenty of brand loyalty. Thinking of buying another Fender bass, in fact.)

Just got my first bass tonight. Going to go look at some rumble amps tomorrow. Should I get the 40? 100? 200?
I'm just goofing off playing in the living room.

Tough question. Is size an issue in your living room? Is money no object? Even for practice, I like a little power and air movement, so for me I didn't want to go smaller than the 100 combo. Money wasn't a big issue for me, since I sold a 60's blackface Vibro Champ for more than a new 500 combo. I went for a 500 combo because it's no bigger than the 200, but will help if/when I play out. I think the 100 or 500 combos are the best options, but the 15" speaker in the 200 gets a lot of love here. There's a used 500 combo for sale by mikecd1 that I would have jumped on but it was listed right after I bought mine.

No size issues. I'm seriously doubting I will ever play outside of a living room. Have played in bands years ago. Just really don't have time(work) and can't stand very long (bad back).

There is a 200 on craigslist for $300. But thinking I'll go buy a new rumble 40 and be happy.

Man, got my GK MB212II running again last night. (Had to replace a blown speaker) and let me tell you, what I said before, there is a huge learning curve from the MB212II and the Rumble and it runs the way around too.

I haven't used the GK in over 6 months. I got use to the way the Rumble sounds and reacts. So it was a bit of shock to the system to go back.

I'm not knocking either amp, I love them both. They are just different. Both have their pros and cons and I can get by with either.

Funny thing, my drummer wants to start playing bass now and he wants a Rumble 500 combo, like my set up, but the combo instead.maybe the Rumble made him want to do it?

I threatened my drummer and told him my new stage setup with be both amps on either side of the drums, lol.

Hi everyone I just picked up a brand new condition Rumble 500 combo from my local craigslist. I get home and plug it in, no sound. Nothing. Any idea what it may be? I've tried everything. Different cables, basses, turned the master and gain up full volume nothing.

Any ideas of what the cause may be?

Thanks

Do any lights turn on? Press the overdrive button -- does a red light turn on?
