Fender Rumble Club

Well it looks like the seller found me a Fender Certified Tech who will do a free diagnostic on it. I'm taking it on Monday.

He said he feels terrible about the whole situation and will help in any way he can. We'll see how this turns out. I'm optimistic.
Any time I sell anything electric on Craigslist, I tell them they have my personal one hour guarantee. If they get it home and it doesn't work, I will give them their money back. If they just don't like it, that is not my problem. I think it as fair a guarantee as you can get on Craigslist. I have never sold anything that didn't work, so no one has ever taken me up on it.

I bought a Rumble 500 a few weeks ago and have struggled a bit with getting the tones I want.

Last week I gigged it and just had no time aside from a one song sound check to really adjust. Mosy every amp I've ever used I ran the master high for a cleaner sound. Doing this I had to run the Gain and volume low on the bass, cause the thing was so loud, and was getting a carpy sound. I'm finding that this may be the incorrect way to go about setting a Rumble. The manual says that running either at higher levels can increase compression, sustain, etc.

So my question is for a cleaner sound are you running both the master and gain at lower levels?

What you don't understand and are having a real problem with is called 'gain structure'. Fender Rumble Talk - Gain Structure
That info is the best stuff I've read re the Rumbles and much appreciated. It appears that I've been making the error of running the Master too high. I can't wait too see how this affects the overdrive. One thing I have learned is that for it too sound decent I do need a fair amount of input from the bass.

Great stuff and much appreciated! Fender could possibly benefit from a little more comprehensive manual!

You're welcome! What I have found is that people for the most part don't read, and even when they do in many cases they don't comprehend. Most manuals end up in the trash unread.
I love manuals! But the manual for the Rumbles IS on the sparse side. It would be really cool if they had included some of the information in the Tone Pool, for instance. On the other hand, if they did, I wouldn't have joined this club, and then I would never have encountered the fine ladies and gentlemen that make the Rumble Club what it is, so it's all good :)

Got a new friend for my Rumble today :)

I got one too! Love the color!! And it plays very well, which is more important.

I have an issue with mine which is bothering me a bit: the pickups are not aligned with the strings very well. I'll try and take a photo when I get a free day, but it's weird and it can't be fixed by moving the strings around on the bridge barrels. I should contact Fender.

Sounds fine, though, so I guess I'm not too panicked about the situation.

I haven't looked at the string alignment on the pickups, but it sounds amazing and plays great. The only sad part is that my Rumble is at my guitarist's house, and we have no band practice this week - don't get to play it right again until a week from Weds.

Did you get the one that was at fountain valley GC a few months ago?

My Rumble 500 head arrived today. May I have a number please? I'm also looking for a new cab for it. I'm going to pair the Rumble with my Tonehammer pedal to make a poor man's TH500. But I will say it sure sounds good on its own.
Greetings! Please pardon my delay. I've been really sick since Wednesday afternoon and haven't been on a computer.
You are #685. Rumble On!

Legit question? Really? How so? I posted my question here thinking maybe someone had a similar experience.

His comment did absolutely nothing in regards to being helpful.

I hope if he ever has an issue with a piece of gear and posts a genuine question asking for help, he is offered a possible solution rather than some kind of snarky comment or lecture.

I plan on taking the combo to a friend, hopefully he'll be able to help me. I asked the seller for a refund but of course he refused.

Everyone's diffferent I guess. If I had been the seller and there was an issue, I would had refunded the cash without a problem.

Wish me luck :)
Did you ask for the original receipt? That would get your amp fixed or replaced. I hope your friend can fix it for you, if you didn't get the receipt.
Now, we are a friendly bunch here and welcome all comers. Please don't take offense at @Linnin's response. He was really only trying to help. He is really a very nice person and really the backbone of the Fender Rumble Club.
Would you like to have a number and become a member? We'd love to have you with us.

Find out where he bought it. If it was a major retailer, they may be able to provide a copy of the receipt if the seller doesn't have it. I bought a 100 from GC used site and had a problem. I went to my local GC and they were able to print me a copy. I am expecting it to be returned any day now. The Fender Authorized deal called Saturday and apologized because it wasn't back yet. He said he was expecting it last week. Glad I don't have to have it, but it will show up.

Update. Dealer called today and said he talked to Fender. They dropped the ball and are sending a replacement expedited delivery and it is expected Thursday.
