Rumble on!.

Just to be on the safe side, mrb327, you should send the unit to me along with the cabinet so I can be certain if the OD is functioning properly. I'm from the internet, after all.![]()
Not sure what your trying to say about the lights, but the OD light will not come on unless the power light is on. How do you expect to get ant OD effect with the control knob turned all the way left, which all but negates the effect? In my set up I find anything more than 10 or 11 o'clock to extreme-just personal taste. You will also need to give it some gain on the input side. Personally I like to set the level, which works as a volume nob when the OD is engaged at a point where there is no noticeable volume change when switching in and out of OD mode.Is this a normal setting for light tube like OD? (Amp is off but OD circuit was on) Vintage/contour/brite off.
Feeding it with a G&L L2000 (preamp on)
Still wondering if the OD circuit is blotto...

Photo was taken with the unit powered down, but OD circuit was engaged. Still getting more than enough OD at those setting, which was my inquiry. Seems like I've got everything just about turned off.Not sure what your trying to say about the lights, but the OD light will not come on unless the power light is on. Love my Rumble 500-very light and durable (dropped more than once). Sometimes I stick an ART Tube MP pre-amp in front of it to warm up the tone a little.
I see your point, got the same amp, but I wouldn't get any noticeable effect at those settings and although I don't use the same cab, I doubt that's the prob. Still under warranty? Mind you, Im very familiar with using tube amps and tube break up

Actually my daughter has been using it at school the last 2 years, so I really have very little experience to account to.I see your point, got the same amp, but I wouldn't get any noticeable effect at those settings and although I don't use the same cab, I doubt that's the prob. Ok. Part of the issue on the gain setting is the bass (active). Likely as not the signal in is just very strongI would think that setting looks right, the rumble od is a bit on the distortion side of the spectrum. I use the drive control all the way down, and if the gain is too high it is still quite distorted. But outright fuzz bass needs the drive turned up AND the gain.
Have you checked the Fender Rumble Tone Pool? There are a couple of settings there that might get the sound you are wanting.Photo was taken with the unit powered down, but OD circuit was engaged. No, where is this mythical place you speak of?Have you checked the Fender Rumble Tone Pool? There are a couple of settings there that might get the sound you are wanting.
Looking at it again, no wonder you aren't hearing much distortion if that is what the complaint was, you need some treble in there, and more hi mids help too. Overdrive on bass is extremely subtle when the highs are completely cut out like that. I also.use bright, but usually with the tweeter turned off. I do find a subtle overdrive while not discernable in the context of a band setting, really helps sit the bass in the mix where you can hear the notes better than a fully clean tone, which would require a bright clacky tone in order to cut through otherwise. Trying to word this stuff is tough. For rock and punk with fender passive basses (and my newly aquired bargain basement beat up peaveys) I always use the overdrive, it makes me wonder why I use my footswitch. But playing a stingray, Warwick or active ibanez in drop tuning for system of a down covers, I play clean with a lot of snap, and use the overdrive for the "fuzz bass" parts. Is this a normal setting for light tube like OD?
