Fender Rumble Club

Correct.

Your Rumbles Effects Loop is Post everything!

It is as safe as you make it. Yes, as I understand the matter, you risk damage if you go overboard just like any other amp.
Don't forget one of these

Great, thanks. Really makes it super flexable..I added a diamond compressor after the bass and before the preamp, with the TH AGS and some tweaking, totally nailing a nasty, grinding, slightly fuzzy tube sound......for a LOT less $, weight and hassel

KUDOS to you @eastcoasteddie! (any relation to Ocean Eddie at Virginia Beach?) The Fender Rumble 40 is most definitely the way to go. Plus it is actually 3 pounds lighter than the Rumble 25 at 18 vs 21. Is it really worth $99 more? I think so, yes. You'll decide for yourself. Always ask for a better deal!
Nah...no association...I'm just a nobody.

But yeah, I'm leaning more toward the 40...

Ok, here's the deal. With my 100 v3 as master and Markbass 121H as slave, properly connected, and my bass plugged into the Fender:

All knobs on the Markbass except GAIN work and affected the sound, including all EQ knobs and both the VLE and VPF filters.

If I plug my bass into the Markbass instead of the Fender, the Markbass fully functions as if it were not hooked to the Fender at all. The GAIN knob then works as normal. And I get no sound at all from the Fender.

With the bass plugged into the Fender, everything on the Fender works like normal, and everything on the Markbass functions like normal except for GAIN (as if the Fender were the gain for it then).

Weird, huh?

(Oh, and of course the Fender DRIVE effect and all EQ are coming through the Markbass when my bass is plugged into the Fender).

Is there a pre/post eq button beside the send/return on the Markbass?

Ps.. your answer will be yes.

NO. Mine is an older one with a LMII head in the combo (just "Combo Head"). I think it's automatically pre-eq.

BUT.....ya got me thinking: I also have a separate LMIII head that does have the pre/post switch. It's at the other house right now, but I'll bring it back next week when I go up there to cut the grass. How that switch is set might have an effect on how all this works, huh?

Dang, thought I was going to be an awesome smartass, lol

And yeah, sounds like that is true. I assumed all effects loops were power amp only, apparently not.

Otherwise, it's no different than putting your effects before your normal instrument input, besides gain as you mentioned with your particular combo. That's bizarre.

Do this: take your instrument cable and run your plug in & out of the FX send and return jacks many times to clean out any oxidation or anything else that may be built up on the contacts. Do the same with your headphones and aux in jacks. If you've got any DeOxIT5 even better. Spray a bit on the male plug and run it and out of the jacks to clean them. That's a kind of maintenance you should do annually anyway.

Wait, @Linnin what time is The Rumble Open Bar tonight? Last week I started too late. I posted my open container on my Rumble and nobody got up in arms. What gives?

But we do applaud your valiant effort! :smug: I thought you were brilliant  Rumble On!

LMAO, ya'll. But hey, Derek, it WAS indeed a smart thought, and I've been hanging out all night trying to think of the conversations the two amps could be having.

FENDER: "Let's go with everything, only you can leave your gain at home."

MARK: "OK. You can just come over the lines inside since there's no switch. That won't make sense to Them, but you and I know how to do that."

I dunno myownself. I'm not savvy enough in electronics. I know enough to get my foot stuck in my mouth sometimes. All these decades playing, gigging, and not really studying anymore than necessary to use my equipment.

And now, I would also be curious to know what the board would get in my scenario, and which LINE OUT to use, although I don't have a board myself, but I'll be in one soon enough, if I wanna use both amps.

I spilled a bear at a jam recently. The BL said it was a good idea for me to bring a few for the guys. Nobody drank any. I wasn't invited back. It was humorous.

I have a trip and walk into stuff gene. I was perfectly sober at the time.

That's why I find it really scary to have open containers on amps. I would be the first to dedtroy the thing.

Bizarre stuff can be done by accident. I have the fender 500 combo, vox 15 and a fender 212/r All hooked together tonight....along with a weird arsed peddle board. I am recording some nasty soundtracks tonight.

Not sure if I found sh*t or shinola.

Heh, heh, I remember those kinds of times myself, hooking stuff up every which a way, only with me, not really knowing what I was doing. And trying not to start a fire or ruin something. Fun stuff, oh yeah.
