Fender Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800

.
Attention: Rumble Club Wiki Edit Alert!

I've finallyfound a Press Announcement of the new ACB 50 bass combo amp! So, I've added a new link to the Press Announcement under the ACB 50 Bass Amp sub-section on your Rumble Club Wiki page. This should be very helpful information, especially when, not if, it disappears fron the 7ender website again when they sell the current stock.

At least Fender is still thinking about us bassists and still making exciting new gear for us!

Rumble On!
.
That looks so cool but probably something I'd never get LOL. Beautiful amp though!

There is this guy in the Fender Rumble Club on FB (yes, I know) that every time someone posts anything about the Stage 800 and trying to find a sound on it he is right there telling them to switch to the non-digital Rumbles because "it's the worst amp Fender has ever made and no matter how much I've tried I just can't get a warm sound out of it". The rest of us are trying to be productive and offer suggestions to get the right sound and he's always there to be a curmudgeon.

It' s starting to piss me off.

That is a shame. Funny, I was just thinking to myself last night how, unless I get SO incredibly good someday, with a VERY definite “sound” that a non- modeling amp like my Stage 800 could provide (which in and of itself is doubtful), I don’t see myself EVER needing another amp in my life!

This thing is hugely powerful, incredibly versatile, and infinitely customizable. I absolutely LOVE it!

It seems materialistic “snobbery” exists anywhere - be it mountain bikes, golf equipment, or in this case, bass amps!

He has his negative post saved as a copy and paste for anyone that asks about the stage 800. I also find it insanely annoying. I took my stage 800 outside and turned it up to maybe 2 or so and it sounds absolutely awesome. That guy just doesn't know how to use the stage 800, nor did he spend the time needed to learn how to use it.

Yeah - he won't even write a fresh commentary each time which leads me to believe he was too lazy to deep dive into the amp like he should have.

My favorite comment, both here and there, is "the sounds are too processed"! What the f* is that supposed to mean??? Are they only trying the Synth voices, or something? Sheesh! o_O

That's most of the negative comments, right there! "It's too complicated/fiddledy to find a good tone." Duh! If you can't read or figure it out how can you do anything else IRL?

OH, and [rant] "the models don't sound like what they're named after." Fine! The high-priced "profilers" are ready to take your money! These value based modelers are for the variety of sounds to keep up interest and have fun, not the "accuracy." They don't have FRFR speakers calibrated to the models and they don't have multi-thousand $$$ components for "accuracy." It's for fun (remember fun?), not audiophile cork-sniffing! :sour: [/rant]

Hey all; here’s an interesting thing that I noticed on my Studio 800 a day or two ago. I tried to search online and looked through the detailed owners manual, but didn’t see any mention of it and wondered if the same may have ever happened to folks that have one as well.
I noticed that just ONE of my settings (#20 - BASIC 300 PRO DIRT) is colored yellow - not blue as it should be or red if a change was made but not yet saved. I have scrolled to different presets and back again, as well as turning it off and back on.
I’m including a pic for reference.
Has anyone else ever seen this before, and if so, what (if any) remedy there was?
It doesn’t seem to make any issue to the sound at all, just very odd that ONLY this preset!

Thanks in advance,
Kev

Kev,

1. Your modeling Rumble might be a Stage 800, or a Studio 40, but not a Studio 800. :roflmao:

I think being colored yellow means that preset is included in your favorites setlist.

B. "Setlists" is the general term used on page 34 of the manual for favorites list, gig list, rehearsal list, any list of presets you intend to use in a certain order. Look in your Setlists for the default name "Setlist 1" that contains the "#20 Basic 300 Pro Dirt" preset. You can also rename your Setlists to something more descriptive, if you wish. ;)

Hmmm, interesting! I don’t remember adding/creating a favorites, so I must have done it accidentally. Thanks for the tip as to why it happened - much appreciated!

Cheers,
Kev

You're not the first to have this happen, Kev. But you, and JakobT, came to the right place for answers.

HA!! You’re right G-dog; I had my Studio 40 for so long, it’s hard to get used to saying Stage 800 now!

Fender 800-watt bass head: Pros/Cons. Anyone own the Fender 800 watt bass head? I am in the market for a bass head (I play early 70's blues rock) and was wondering about the tone, reliability, whether or not it cuts-out, and anything else you can tell me about this amp before I consider sinking money into it. Oh, how is the warranty and does Fender stand behind it? Thanks in advance! -Bill

Pro: 400w continuous into 8 ohms, 800w into 4, 2.67 or 2 ohms all night long. Same familiar preamp as other non-modeling Rumbles. New (to Rumbles at introduction time) Pre- & Post- switch on the XLR Out, which is not affected by the Master volume. Power/Status light is red when turned on, flashes amber at normal high power, solid amber when entering "Protect Mode" at high power/heat. :smug:

Con: XLR Out is not affected by the Master volume, unlike most older Rumbles.

Warranty: Fender does, indeed, stand firmly behind their 2-year, non-transferable warranty.

Advice: You might reach more R800HD owners in the main, non-modeling Fender Rumble Club thread than this modeling Rumble Club sub-thread. ;)

Maybe this will reach some Fender Tone App developer... This Android 17April2023 update 3.2.6 build 12587 for rumble has made the app worse: when you open the amps of some presets, the preset turns red automatically, even without any changes. The adjustments also got worse, being less sensitive to the touch...

One step forward. Two steps back.

Hi!

I owned a Fender Studio a few years back.

*LOVED* it immensely, but what in the end drove me off to sell it was the Blutooth disconnecting randomly, not connecting and just being extremely finicky.

However, there never been an amp which made me more PRODUCTIVE. The ability to hook up an Ipad etc. and do online lessons or play-along really pushed me forwards - For me it was an eye opener being able to stream something and playing on my bass, using the same speaker!

I have that craving again and would like to know if the current production of either stage or studio still have the Blutooth problem, or if the Stage is better? (Would t mind upgrading).

Hey there, Nordy! (Funny; I am currently reading through this whole string to refresh my memory about different features, tips, etc. and have seen that you were experiencing a lot of connectivity issues.)
I originally had a Studio 40, and never experienced any issues - well, certainly no more than my phone or tablet occasionally do when connecting to my Bluetooth stereo or TV. All the updates worked great and it was a great amp.
I’ve since sold that and picked up a Stage 800 in the last few months and the same holds true. Connects perfectly (I find it works best if I connect my tablet or phone to the amp from Settings first and THEN open the Fender Tone app next - connects much better that way)
I do notice that sometimes if I have been playing for a while and then set my bass down and get distracted, doing something else while it’s still turned on, the sound will cut out/go dead for whatever odd reason. I simply turn the amp off for a few minutes and then on again, and all is fine. Weird.

i would certainly agree with you that it is a REALLY fun amp to mess about with, and for me, this Stage 800 will likely be the last amp I ever need (though likely not the last one but WANT!) Lol!

Cheers, Kev

Thanks Kev!

Yah, I am looking at a Stage 800 right now and really tempted.

Need something that can do practise at home AND the occasional gig, which was where the Studio fell short (Not it's fault, I know the limits).

And it's probably just me being jaded that's holding me back from buying the stage straight away.
