Fender Rumble V3 100 speaker up-grade ?

I installed the Beta 12A-II in my Rumble100 and installed acoustic liner inside. No changes to the ports.
This cab rocks now.
Also added a dish with 2 Neutrik speakon connectors wired parallel and also added a Neutrik on the amp itself. Now I can use the combo as cab only if I want. Only drawback is now I have to use a cable from the amp to the speaker. But I like the option of using a different amp.

Hello Guys !!
I have some knowledge in box planning.
I have some familiarity with Win ISD and Bass Box!
But...
I searched in this topic for effective duct modifications (increased length to reduce "HZ tunning") but I didn't find any.
There are many considerations regarding acoustic dampening.

In fact, the original tuning is around 60 Hz !

I'm going to lengthen the ducts to lower the pitch to around 47 - 50Hz (close to 15cm long in both ducts)
I plan to use light dampening ! (It's all about eminence S2012)

I'll try to record a before and after to have a real comparison. I just need a little time for this LOL

I already follow Atrosonic's posts from a long time ago (on other topics).
He doesn't know me, but I've already used his knowledge as a parameter for many decisions LOL

Well...Thank you very much for your considerations !!

Where did you put the fioler? How would you describe the resulting sound, volume, etc.?

I used 3/8" foam that I got from (Parts Express I believe, it's been a while)
Lined back, bottom and partially the sides.
The cab now does not have that "boxy" "hollow" tone and has much more focused low end and tightness to it. I haven't gigged it so I don't know what it'll do at high volume levels. I currently only use it as a practice amp and also sometimes run my drum machine thru it.
I'm sure the speaker mod/change helped considerably.

Hello Guys !

My simple contribution to this modification:

I am very satisfied ! exceeded expectations

The platform compresses the audio. Live the change is huge!

WOW.......Thank You for the above.

I've been away.....but have now seen this post from last October. Great video! Could you or someone else please tell me where you get the port tubing and how it is installed?
I put in the Eminence BASSLITE S2012 Neo back in 2018...but didn't touch the tubes. I enjoy a MAJOR improvement from the stock speaker.....but if I could get a better DEEPER response it would be amazing.
Where do the tunes come from? Do you have to cut them to size? Do they just pull out and push in?
My R200 gives me the sound I WANT....but I'm 71 now and appreciate the 20.6 lbs that the R100 now weighs........

I bought common plastic box tubes sold online (3") (here in Brazil). I fixed the 2 with glue, and left them 15cm (3") each. I removed the old short paper tubes
I can say that it really improved in all aspects... including weight !!!!!

Thanks, Regis! I found THESE on line. Do you think 2 of these, cut to 15 cm will work? Do the original tubes come out easily? You glued these in? Any special glue? Thanks!

On some models of Rumble cabs and combos the stock tubes are cardboard, identical in diameter to widely available cardboard tubing, either in the form of shipping tubes, or masking or duct tape rolls! For a quick idea you can tape a slice of matching tubing onto the end of the stock tubes and see what the lengthened tubes sound like. Frankly you can leave it just taped if you like the results, but you could also seal the joint with a little glue.

I have a Rumble 100 v3 bought in 2017, just came across this thread recently and I understand a simple speaker swap could give me a real sound upgrade - I've always felt the sound was a bit muddy and unclear, but never really gave it any serious thought. Recently I've been playing my acoustic and electric guitars through the amp too, for the fun of it, but the sound isn't ideal. The speaker swap looks pretty straightforward and no real risks from what I understand, but would it be a lot clearer/cleaner, especially for acoustic/electric and without losing any of that rumbly bass when playing my jazz bass through it?
My speaker options at the moment are the Eminence S2012 for ~190USD or the Celestion Pulse 12 for ~140USD. Where I live the Ampeg RB112 costs ~470USD new and the Rumble 100 v3 costs ~650USD, amp prices around here are pretty high so that's why I'm seriously considering changing out the speaker. Oh, and I love the low weight of the Rumble 100, I take it out to gigs and would love to keep the weight low. A pound here or there won't kill me but I understand that the S2012 is even lighter than the stock speaker. Would appreciate any input from you who have played both or can help me decide which way to go with this:)

In general, the "upgrade" potential is pretty minimal, and it's also quite possible to go the other way and turn it into a downgrade.

My recommendation is to leave it alone.

I used to design and build speaker cabs (back in the Greenboy fEARful glory days. LOL). I do agree that my Rumble 100's are a little "boxy" sounding (excessive lo-mids) and certainly some lining helps minimize that. But I no longer have any desire to build or mod my cabs.

I easily control it by cutting the low-mids a bit more than usual in the amp's tone controls. Much easier solution for me. Of course I no longer play really loud onstage where I need to "cut through" the mix.

Back when stage volume was loud my fEARful 15/6 was braced and lined. Cutting through the mix was never an issue with that cab. I just dominated the mix as needed/wanted.:cool:
