Fender style 6 string?

5 strings seem to be close enough to the feel of a 4, but 6ers push it a bit. I think that's why Fender hasn't picked up on it. 6 strings don't feel like their 4 strings, and the feel is a big part of the Fender vibe. Already, there aren't many Fender 5 strings, and it seems not many people would ready for a Fender if they were looking for a 6 string. It's good to see that companies such as LowEnd are making them and pushing the boundaries. Nice looking basses everyone! Jorg, let me know how that bass is when you get it!

This is nice!

I imagine it is quite heavy, though; concidering that the Fender basses often exceed 10 pounds for a 4-string...

There may not be a lot of Fender V strings in your neck of the woods, but there are plenty around here were I live. Now as far as people not being ready for Fender to make a 6 string I would have to disagree with you there because I've known plenty of players would have love for Fender to actually make a 6 string along the concepts of these same thing as the 4/5 string, and the 2 MAIN reasons that they would like to have this is because of its Legendary tone, and the way they feel.IMHO if anyone could do it,then it would be Fender if they wanted to because they have unlimited resources to really make a great 6-string Jazz or P bass, and I don't think it would take long before you would see players of the 6 string (such as myself) having one of these.............look how popular the 5's are.And the 4's......forgettabout it. :o
