Fenders on Amazon WAY Below MSRP... A Trap?

Stay away from these "just launched" sellers. I almost bought a GK MBF800 from one of these sellers for about $400 less than msrp. They wanted me to contact them via a personal Gmail account. I notified amazon and they disappeared. Will amazon return an item if a seller vanishes? Either way don't let the adrenaline of a great deal override your common sense. In your case it's probably worth another $300 to get what you're paying for.

Just like eBay, you can check out 3rd party sellers by their feedback and number of transactions. I've had a few 3rd party sellers who were very slow to deliver and used some sketchy packaging. Nothing that got to the point of needing Amazon to step in though. Usually, I'll go with an Amazon fulfillment, even if the price is a bit more.

I buy things like movies, games and phone accessories from 3rd parties on Amazon and rarely if ever have a problem. I just check their feedback rating first and avoid the ones that say "just launched". Those are usually the same ones selling things for suspiciously low prices too.

Amazon has dropped the ball a few times though by not immediately pulling shoddy products like those "hoverboard" scooters that burst into flames or more recently the spate of cheap Chinese-branded Android phones that had spyware pre-installed on them.

Yeah, these scammers must be out in force. I noticed the same thing on different bass yesterday. The description had a bunch of weird characters that spelled out an email address to contact them. Why can't Amazon filter this crap out?
