No idea. I have to imagine that even if they want to rid themselves of him, they'll want the highest price possible, so they can't condemn him too much.
No comment because all the replays showed that the ref got it right.
The panel of experts on RTE all agreed (a very rare occurrence) that it was a clear penalty.

The absolute nuclear option would have been if you had made Titus as biteyboy....I think he might have done a Liam Neeson on you for that one.
Uruguay is a great country, without a doubt (been there 3 times), but (sports) karma will be a bitch and they will "bite the dust" sooner than later... (any correlation between Suarez' and the great Freddie [Mercury's] substantial denture is purely coincidental)
The lack of morality in football is one of it's major problems, from the theatrics to the lack of respect for officials.
I'd love to see some of the tier 1 rugby ref's taking on match officiating at these games, granted, they aren't perfect and there'll still be mistakes, but they'll take a hell of a lot less BS.
That's true, but the damage to his value might already have been done. I think most clubs would really think hard before spending huge money on him now. A player of that quality won't ever be cheap, but risking tens of millions on someone who's always likely to do something that earns a substantial ban when the red mist takes over wouldn't make a lot of sense. Liverpool might be stuck with him for some time yet.
The comments made by the Uruguayan manager make no sense to me at all. If he seriously thinks that this is just a minor indiscretion, and all the attention that it's getting is due to a conspiracy of the British media to distract attention away from England's failure to progress in the tournament, he needs his head examined. Clearly he knows nothing about the way our press cover the ups and downs of our national team.
When you have a team built around one player, I guess it isn't all too surprising, even if he is a scumbag.
But you can't defend the indefensible. It seems like many Uruguayans, including people in their press, are trying to say that it was just a clash of heads. It's patently obvious what actually happened when you see it from one particular camera angle, followed by Suarez's subsequent play-acting - not to mention the bite marks! The demeanour of Suarez at full-time is only understandable in that context. There really shouldn't be any controversy about what actually took place, and the people who are in denial about it are making themselves look very silly in my opinion.
How the world's media and FIFA should espond to it is a legitimate subject for discussion, but any assertion that Suarez didn't bite Chiellini is just ridiculous - and even disturbing.

FIFA want the controversy. Hell, I remember when they said they didn't want any form of goal line technology because it would reduce the "human impact" of officiating and, basically, that dodgy calls were one of the things that made football good. Heck, I think it was Sep Twatter himself that was complaining about it!
I agree there is no way that any right minded person can't see that bite happen, thing is, the organisational structure is full of people who aren't right minded.

Since it happened in an international tournament, is there any possibility that the ban be for international play only? To make it hurt, it should be long enough to miss the 2018 World Cup which is essentially his prime playing years. LFC already has taken its lumps with him when he misbehaved in a red shirt (that's the correct spelling, no?) and even if you hate LFC, you have to be careful about wanting to see a flawed institution like FIFA get too involved in club football. YMMV, but YNWA.
FIFA can ban him from club games as well as internationals, but are very unlikely to do so. Any ban will probably only affect his appearances for his country and not for his club. The maximum ban is 24 games or two years. The most anyone has been banned for before is 8 games.
It's a shame as they could just as easily re-build the team around Cavani, who's an absolute class act.
All I´m saying is that IF Suarez is found guilty, ban him, is his third time and I assume it will be a long one. But I didn´t read anything of anyone of you whining about this

But it´s ok, rivers of ink are flowing about Suarez. You really truly love to hate him. He will be banned, you all can be happy. We will shrug and take the match against Colombia in the usual Uruguayan way (suffering and playing each ball like it´s the last). But the press won´t be writing about that, they will still be writing about Suarez and how mean he is, forgetting all about the other ten players that gave all they could.
