Your instincts are correct. The Serek does indeed sound great, but anything remotely post-punkish pop, like this, with jangly guitar and the snare on every beat, is tailor made for a p bass, and as far as I'm concerned, the more in-your-face the better, which is why I voted Cutlass.Right after the recording I liked the Cutlass better, I struggled less than with the Serek and its special pickup configs to get something that I like...but after coming back, the Serek sounds pretty good too, less "in your face"
