Fingerboard and Strings - POLL

Currently have a Maple/Maple P bass with rounds on most of the time. Looking at getting an Alder/Rosewood P and planned on letting a pair of flats grow old on it.

I was poking around a few other threads and was curious. Which fretboard/string combination do you prefer?

All flats for me!
Currently using DA Chromes on a Roger Basses J5 with maple fretboard, and Chromes on a Celinder Vintage P4 with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. As much as I love hearing the tone others get with rounds, they just don't jive with my playing style. Partially because I use nails on my right hand which enhances high mids and trebles, but mainly because I love how flats keep the notes hefty even on higher strings.

Ain't nobody got time for that.

Right now I'm swapping strings relatively often. My flats are TIs and rounds are Dunlops Super Bright Nickles (light). With each swap I have to adjust neck tension and bridge height. And I need a reason to justify another bass.

I care a lot less about the fret board wood other than it's aesthetic value than string type ... SS rounds all the way.

I like DR Pure Blues on my P basses,(Am. St., MIM, Black label-all rosewood).
I like DR High Beams on my Ibanez RB850's, (also both rosewood)

I don't like the tone of maple boards.

I don't use flats, because I haven't needed their tone.

I keep trying to go to rounds since they are so much easier on the fingers... not that I am getting old But I keep going back to the flats since they sound so much better IMHO.

I don't care about neck wood as far as strings go. Fretless? Flats. P bass? Flats. J bass? Rounds. Ric? Rounds.

I prefer the only logical choice for me...constantly changing it up. Carrots and celery and I like caramelized onions too.

Rosewood fretboard and D'Addario Chrome XL flats: they sound, feel and look good to me. If my bass had had the option of an ebony fretboard I would have gone with that.

My general preference is rosewood with any type of string.
But I am quite partial to a Geddy / 70's Jazz with a maple fretboard and black block inlays, but these must have stainless steel rounds. Bright and zingy.

Ash, maple and rounds because you can roll off treble but you can't put it in where it isn't.
