So I bought Geddy Lee’s “big beautiful book of basses” and fell in love with his 1963 shoreline gold jazz Bass. Only one thing to do, refinish one to catch that vibe, so my 70’s Squier VM jazz would have to become my victim.
So what is left of the original bass....?
the body, the bridge, the chrome plate for the pots, and for now, the pickups.
The rest is all new, but necessary for the required look i was going for. Not going to lie, I had some big help with painting, some rewiring, and cleanup of the new Fender neck. I know my limitations, but I’m good with that and in the end, I’m jazzed about the jazz.
