Flare or bell bottom jeans

They were in style from around 1968 to 1980'ish.

I wore them, everyone did.

Anyone still don a pair on occasion?

I couldn't wear them. I have frog legs, with big thigh and calf diameters relative to my waist size. Even now, with age making my legs atrophy and my belly expand, I don't fit into clothes that aren't intended to be a little baggy around the thighs. So, I always looked like a farmer in town for market day. That's OK. When you are a dork, looking like a dork is just truth in advertising.

1968. My 7th birthday. I got an ugly green pair of bell bottom jeans. I wore them every day for about 6 months. They were my favorite pants in the the world, and the coolest pants a kid my age could have... until of course patch pockets came out.

And I wore them with these
