(have to stay on top of these numbers)!

Tat2dheart... My band (Dakota Black)has been playing the Haven about once a month. I keep seeing the reclaimed strings thing. Whats that all about?

I'll have to come see you up there then. The Reclaimed Strings Project is a non-profit to support local musicians and artists. The girl who runs it makes jewelry from old strings (all stringed instruments) and sells it to raise money that goes back into the local musician/arts community. You can find more info here http://www.facebook.com/GenesisAngelRSP.

I saw some of her work last week at the benefit and it was pretty cool wearable art. A neat way to recycle, too.

I'll start saving my old strings. Figure that's a pretty good use for them.

Dude! You played BackBooth on Friday night? I didn't see that until Saturday afternoon. I'd have come down to see you there. And videotaped. BackBooth has a great balcony to shoot from.

Yes! I was a fun show for sure! We had the first slot which is a bummer sometimes, but it went well! That was my first time there. Not a bad place! The subwoofers under the stage is kind of strange at first! It kind of threw me off a little until I got used to it. I see what you mean about the balcony. We could use some good video footage! Next month we will be at the Haven on the 18th and I think 57 West on a weeknight the same week for a battle of the bands thing so maybe you can make it to one of those!

I've shot video in both places. 57 West has a balcony, as well. Good view from there and decent sound, but occasionally the music from BackBooth competes. The stages back up to each other against that wall.

Haven isn't bad. Good sound. But I have to shoot from the floor so I'm pretty much face on with the band. If anyone steps out of frame, its hard to move and get them back in without jiggles.

I'll PM you my contact info - we can talk. And I can give you the address to find some of the other video I've shot locally.

We're playing at Siggy's in Palm Bay Friday night, so I won't be able to make it. We're back down in your neck of the woods at Good Times West in Port St Lucie on the August 11th. Again the following weekend at Good Times East on the 18th. Have a great gig!

I live just down the road and my drummer goes there, but I haven't been. I'll send him a note and ask what he's heard in there besides the karaoke they talk about on their website. [DEL]Give me a day or two. [/DEL] While you're thinking about that one, you might want to try the Crown Lounge and the Cue Room. Cue Room does quite a bit newish stuff from what I've seen - local metal and alternative rock bands.

Scratch the day or two - timing is everything.

When they book live bands, it's 70's, 80's, and 90's music.
