Florida Bassists Club

I lived up in Norcross 20 years ago. It was crowded then!

Well that sucks! How soon are they sending you up there?

Don't know the timing yet. But I don't want to leave the band in a lurch, so I'm looking for my replacement now so it'll be a smooth transition. If we're lucky and find someone quickly, then I'll hang out with them and run sound or do backing vocals or hand percussion or something until I go.

On July 4th & 5th the band I'm in is playing a huge outdoor show at 7830 Normandy Blvd. in Jax. We have an eight-acre parking lot upon which we will have three semi trailers as the backdrop for three stages, and a FOH system running over 25,000 watts.

Center stage will us, starting and ending both evenings; we have other groups going on including one other live band. The side stages are for two choreograph dance teams, one of which will be performing a Michael Jackson tribute. After the performance on the 4th we will have a fireworks show.

This is a family-friendly event with games, dunk tank, basketball competition and other things to do for kids/adults alike. There will be concessions with soft drinks and cotton candy, burgers/dogs and the like, and at inexpensive prices (not fair-gouging rates).

Event starts at 6 pm with the concert starting about 8. This is a FREE event, open to the community at large (the games may have some costs, and concessions as I indicated does) and promises to be a great show.

For more info or directions, questions, etc. please send me a PM. It would be cool to meet some more TB'ers in the local area.
