Folks --

This is readily available through Fodera at:

Long story short, this is an outboard version of our current internal preamp. Although the circuit is not identical to the internal preamp, it was made to sound sonically as close as possible in an outboard format. You can either plug it in (via a transformer) or use 9-volt batteries. It has the same ability to shape bass, mids and treble as the internal preamp.

Cheers,

Jason

Hey, I just wanted to post a quick thanks to Jason and the crew at Fodera - I received my Imperial this past weekend and have spent the last few days getting to know it. The quality, workmanship, playability, tone, etc, is so good that it's hard to even describe.
Thanks Jason for all the impatient questions in the last couple months - you really are on top of things, and it is much appreciated.

Beautiful bass..congratulations:)

What are the specs on it and how long did you wait?

SWEET....Whats you opinion of the EMG's?

Thanks!
The EMG's sound great to me. Very rich sounding. I can get some amazing piano-like tones easily on the E and A strings.

I know everyone has an opinion on pickups, and EMG's may not be everyone's first choice, but I have worked with the guys at EMG and know they really are committed to being great at what they do.

I figured EMG's would be a good starting point, and who knows in the future when I am very familiar with the bass I may try to 'voice' it a bit with some different pickups. But I knew that I couldn't go wrong starting with the EMG's, and I so far I'm not disappointed at all.

Damn...I did NOT need to see this! Now I want one :help:

What does it weigh?

I get 10lbs on the bathroom scale...

i'll add an edit:
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, the bass is awesome. I just have a badly ruptured disk and a couple lbs does make a difference. My main bass is a sadowsky that is about 7lbs, which makes a huge difference to my back after a night of playing...
