Imperial II 5string (34" extended low B)
Alder Body, Flame Maple Toneblock, Maple Burl Top
Water-cured maple neck, Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard (24fret)
Fodera Dual Coil PUs with matching maple wood covers, Pope 3band.
Gold Hardware.
*body to be as compact as reasonably possible,
*fingerboard width and string spacing like on a Matt Garrison.

In the early 1990s, Brazilian Rosewood (Dalbergia Nigra) was added to the list of endangered species under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).

As an endangered species, harvesting and exporting NEW timber is banned.

i loved your album 'walk your dogma' you sent me.
i even played one of the tunes (neutral drop) from it in my final recital at university.
would love to hear some new stuff!

I've noticed a few recent bolt-on Foderas that do not have the 'double-layer' carve out near the neck/heel joint. Is this a change in design philosophy? The NYCs have the carve out, and the New Standard I used to have had one, but several of the other bolt ons I've seen don't--anybody have any clue why this might be?

I was thinking the same thing. If you go to Mikobass.com and check out the Emperor 5 he has for sale, it does not have it either. I wonder if it is a preference thing.

Vinny did change the design of the bolt-on's for the Custom instruments (but not the NYC's). I am not certain as to why, but will ask him today...
