Fodera Club Part IX

Emperor 5 would be the logical one - essentially an E5 "Std" with the same type spec as the YYS (but with DCs instead of PJ and no paint). That said a bolt-on single cut would be different than the Empire series (which kinda is the E5 "Std"). A Garrison would be cool but I think the small frets keep it from a wider audience. I'd go I5 Std, 19mm spacing, bolt-on neck ash/maple (or ash/ash?). If it was 18mm spaced bridge my budget would be in peril...

I'm not putting out a guess unless the winner gets a free one ;-)

Practiced about an hour this evening on my YYS. I am still getting used to the feather touch it takes... it's been easier playing soft and slow than trying to get too fast. I know the new standard is going to make a lot of new happy players out there.

With all the amazing reviews the Standard gets here, especially from nostatic, I probably should have saved myself many thousands of $$ and gone that route instead of the Deluxe. Oh well...I just can't wait until mine gets here ;)

Hey, here's a really dumb question for the current Fodera owners...one thing I've never asked about. What kind of case does Fodera use? I would presume something fairly nice, yes?

I believe you should get what you can afford, and within that, you should get what really moves you. Settling usually leads to regrets and flipping.

My YYS came with the "teardrop" shape hard case. Fairly typical tolex covered hard case. Nice and solid, though I'm not sure I'd fly with it. Then again, not many cases I would fly with.

I recorded a little happy slappy video of my Foderas. Elite models (Neck-through) are they punchy for slap? That's a question I often get! I think the slap sound of my Fodera is great. What so you guys think?

The Emperor 5 with Walnut/Ebony is surprisingly good!!
Please boost some bass and treble on the on-board preamp and do more records!!

Can't wait for my Imperial ash/maple!!!:hyper:

Cheers!

Nice playing. I think they both sound good, though no surprise, I prefer the 4 with the ash. They sound more similar then different.

It must be in the "meet Your Maker" Section. I haven't gotten my copy yet...if anyone can scan it to PDF and post it, it would be HUGELY appreciated!

Nice write-up in the new Bassplayer magazine on the guys at Fodera. Congrats you guys.

I never started a new thread but did for this on the main page.
