I owned a Monarch 5 alder/curl maple top and ebony. very simple look, but fantastic sound...
I like James's (Genus) Emperor... very simple, but VERY effective!
I have never been a fan of "fancy" looking instruments....

i personally think the performance he did shows a lot of restraint and discipline.

I agree, the one that Garey posted is very nice.
I am pretty sure that he is playing a presentation. I think that they are more like 20-24k. Not sure on the exact price of course, so don't quote me.![]()

The two Buckeye MG is the newborn section are very cool. Are they 19 mm? Could that be a thing to add the specs?
When are you using Maple or Alder with walnut bodies? Does that depends on the neck wood?
