Thanks, Bernie! I may reconsider taking my own shots, but I'll mostly be locked in a room practicing for a while :).

This is generally how I feel about taking pictures,... It's kind of like when you go on vacation and see people doing nothing but taking pictures. I find myself wondering if they are actually enjoying the moments that they are experiencing, or if they are just too distracted because they are taking a lot of pictures. Maybe that works for other people, but for me, I'd rather just experience the moments and leave the camera in the hotel....

That being said, I like this community of fellow bass players and bass addicts, so I will be sure to share with y'all after I have some alone time with this beast ;). By the way, my name is Rich, and I, am addicted to Foderas. I feel much better now!
Sounds great! I'm sure you can't get out the door quick enough for rehearsal!

That smell of a new Fodera is AWESOME !!! I'm endlessly sorry that my ones have lost their smell :bawl::D

I hope you aren't mad because I posted the pic before you did... I was just happy to see it there ;)

enjoy it !!!

Thanks, Lamarjones!

It's in my hands now! I'm so excited. I have a rehearsal that I'm taking it to in a couple of hours. I haven't plugged it in yet, but it sounds killer acoustically.

I would put pictures up, but I couldn't take better pictures than the ones from the new born section of the Fodera website. I have to say, I like that new born section even more now, cause I have just been emailing friends and family the link to check it out instead of taking the time out to take my own pictures. I have never really been a "taking pictures kind of guy." That's an added bonus from the new website in my opinion!

edit: P.S. it has a "new bass" smell to it... :)

I am absolutely not mad at all! It was an exciting moment. I was just about to check Fodera's page to see if it was up myself and it was a pleasant surprise to see something familiar posted on here. I love the description that Jason wrote on the new born section too.... They giggled!

i am SO with you on that one.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I couldn't be happier with this bass. I just got back from the rehearsal and the tone was just amazing. I hadn't even had time to really figure out how adjusting the eq and various switches would really effect the tone, so I just set it flat and made small adjustments throughout the rehearsal. Everyone thought that it was beautiful and my drummer and the group leader really dug the tone (even though I'm still figuring out what this beast can do :-D).

It really cuts in the mix while having a full, warm bottom end and really sings in the high end. It is also the most articulate bass I've ever played. Of course, I could just save time and say, "hey, it's a Fodera!" instead of explaining all of this.... :-D

Edit: Can't wait to hear about basswalker2004's new MG!

This one is simply stunning!!!! The first 16.5mm spacing MG I have ever seen... I'm more positive of my MG6 with 16.5mm spacing now...:bassist:

Hi fellas... i picked the bass up from FedEx yesterday afternoon. Waited about 4 hours to open it so it could get used to the weather. man that was painful...
It is the most incredible bass I have ever played and I have played a lot of them.. I love the spacing... This is what I've needed all along and didn't realize it.. After playing 4 string for 43 years going to a 5 has been a difficult transition, for me anyway. Not with this.. I can easily reach every note on the fretboard.
The tone is outstanding. Resonate, full and even across all the strings. The neck feels great. This is my first ash neck and I am so glad I chose it. It feels broken in and natural right out of the box..
jason kept sending me pics of the back during the build so I didn't get to see the finished top until I opened the case.. I was floored.
Don't know what else to say but i am incredibly happy right now...
cheers
Guy

Congrats, Guy! That is an incredible looking instrument.

Are those pickup covers plastic or ebony?

The tone of that bass has to be insane!
