Has anyone else seen how Richard Bona sings in unison with his bass phrasing? It's pretty fast and amazing. He's mastered the sounds of intervals/shapes before the pitch even comes out of the instrument.

If I'm honest that singing while playing solo is sth. that gets on my nerves after 2 seconds. But not only on Richard's Solos

I've got to agree with Lennard- George Benson is really only the one who can make that listenable. It gets old when Bona does it, and it gets old when Oteil does it. Just not for me. It sounds like practice.
George Benson I don't mind at all, though.

I had the pleasure of seeing Richard at the 55 Bar. It's amazing how he makes it look so easy and natural.

Mike Stern is playing the late shows (10 pm) at 55 Bar in NYC next Monday and Wednesday (8/15 and 8/17). 55's website doesn't say who's with him, but I have seen Lincoln, Anthony and Richard with Mike (Lincoln and Anthony at 55), so the chances that a Fodera will come out of the bassist's bag are high. No matter what, if you are in NYC, it is always a great way to see Mike play.

I don't post around here much anymore. But, I just wanted to share mine with fellow players. This was a long project that turned out even better than I imagined. I have had this beautiful instrument for 6 days and I have to say it absolutely amazing.

Thank you sir. I am putting together ideas for my next one. About all I can confirm at the moment is that it will be fretless. I thought about a custom Monarch body, but then I got to remembering my very first Fodera experience an early AJ contrabass.
It sounds fantastic. In my opinion the clambering added to the warmth of the instrument. Actually, it does not have a passive setting. The LG pre switches between dual and single coil. I may look into adding a passive switch. But, I am completely happy with my EQ set right now.
Oh! I didn't realize that the trim pots were on the inside- I just assumed that it was passive. Very cool.
Out of anything that's come out of the Fodera show recently yours caught my eye. The 2" chambered body is right up my alley.
Thank you. The 2" body was a key element of the instrument. The chambering served 2 purposes. First, obtain as much "openness" as possible, without being a hollowbody. And second, alder and walnut are HEAVY. So, this allowed me to shave some of that weight.
It is an absolute joy to play. It is a great feeling to be able to put together an instrument with a sound in your head and have that realized.
Again, my gratitude goes to the guys in Brooklyn.
