I decided on oak based on listening to my friend Michael Wilcox's fretless Imperial II 6 string, and Vinnie's recommendation. As I mentioned in a previous post, Michael was kind enough to let me ship his bass to the shop to duplicate his neck profile.
I can't wait to see this bass in the Newborn section too! 8^)

Ben - no sound hole. I didn't want to deal with the possibility of acoustic feedback. One of my goals for this bass was to create a resonant body that would influence the overall sound of the instrument. Of course, this project wouldn't be possible without Vinnie's guidance and enthusiasm.
