I would put this on an Imperial w. Ash body, Alder Tone block, 34" Maple Neck w. Brazilian Rosewood board, SD Singlecoils and complete passive (only Vol. and Tone) ....sorry just dreaming

Yes, that would indeed be a nice bass. You don't often see Imperial models with single coil p-ups. I could not pass up that Olive top. I will be a beauty which ever way it get's spec'd.

#1 went to Texas. #3 belongs to ??? Can't say at this time. I believe it will be on the Newborn page later this fall. If the person wishes to make public he is the owner, we will all know.

I've strung my 33" MG with a B and it sounds ridiculous. Maybe it would be more ridiculous if it were 36", but considering the trade-offs it's more than I could ask for.

Hi fivestring, were your various basses with the different scales lengths Foderas?

I have owned basses with 36, 35, 34 and 33 7/8 scale and they really don't sound all that different. IMO scale length has more to do with how you attack the string rather than tone. My Yamaha I have to play with a lighter touch but it still sounds great.

If you are talking about Richard Bona, I had the opportunity to see him with Mike Stern at the 55 Bar. Richard is blessed with an uncanny sense of melody, chops and groove. And a very nice guy to boot.

Gosh..."useless tonally" seems like a rather ambiguous definition to pin down. One man's great tone can be another's noise.

I understood mostly what he was talking about and I might add, but can't find atm, an article that Rick Turner wrote about scale that was just as interesting. I'll have to find it.

I was speaking about practical use of the instrument. I believe that you can play a 33' scale bass in a band and the instrument will be just as useful if it were a 36' scale. I doubt it will get you fired for the lack of tone.

Certainly, this is where the musician comes into play.

Haha nope, will not have a Fodera until next fall if production stays on track.

I had a Ken Bebensee that was 36' scale, maybe a dozen different 35' scale basses, pedulla and yamaha 34' and my yamaha is 33 7/8 scale.

I believe it was an old Bass Player article. I'll have to dig up my stash tomorrow, just got back from a gig. He was writing about string tension and how scale length increases tension..ect.. Anyway great info I'll be sure and look for it later.

If I would would have to choose I would put this on an Imperial 5 w. Ash body, Ash toneblock, 34" Maple Neck w. Brazilian Rosewood board, 22 frets, SD Singlecoils and complete passiv (only Vol. and Tone) ....sorry just dreaming

I really likem the headstock shape of this feature but not the look of the tuner's placement.

So I would ask for that shape but with a normal 3/2 on that Bass

So, I played my new Monarch 5 at an open mike/ jam in Asheville NC. The bass amp they had was a ratty old Peavey TKO 115. The Fodera made it sound like GOLD. Every time I play the bass I'm impressed all over again. Amazing instruments!

I've played his short scale before, it's a B string with the extended-B headstock. I asked him about it during my lesson once and he said that his playing never required the high-C.

And the B string is any good even in Room conditions( where you can really hear it?
