Sorry to hear that. Jason might be able to offer some sort of solution when he gets back from holidays.

I'll be picking up my YYS in a few weeks. Maybe they can spray the cover with a thin coat of lacquer to preserve Victor's signature.

( which harmonic do you get when you pinch right above the front row of pole pieces on, say, the A string?)

My apologies for the late replay. I was actually posting from the office that morning. I went in to grab a couple of things before I left and students kept coming in. So, that is why I ran. I needed to or I would have been stuck here all day.

No sound files yet. We are still getting familiar with one another. Although my annual retreat to the cabin helped a lot with that.

As for the pickup position. I wanted it placed in the P position. I have been a P player my entire life and have never grasped on to dual pickup instruments. So, when I ordered the instrument. The 2 things I knew I wanted were chambered body (to reduce weight) and pickup in the p position.

The top was chosen after that. I met with the owner of the store where I placed the order on several occasions discussing tops. He sent hundreds of photos of various species. I narrowed them down to 4 different pieces, 2 walnut and 2 pieces of olive. And, I made another trip to NYC to view them. That is when this piece was picked.

is that a Bolt-On ? which scale is it ?

to me the top looks more like Buckeye ?! .... but hey, Buckeye is the root of a Chestnut tree , so hard to make a difference :D;)


I would let this pickguard off

...and nice Bass btw ;):)

Sorry, I think you're right about the buckeye. It is a bolt-on, which having owned about 15 Fodera's I've always preferred the sound of their bolt-on's. 34 inch scale. I agree on the pick guard off. I'm going to gig the hell out of this bass in the next 6 months, we'll see how she holds up.

Well I drove 2.5 hours to get my "perfect" fodera aj 6...... Waste of time and gas! Finish checking - worn frets-buckle rash-
Uggggg some people amaze me!!.....he says it's "perfect"....not even close pal!...
Oh well the hunt continues for the fodera 6 lol...... Nice one portrait!!!! Love the buckeye!.
