Whoever said that these burl tops look more like granite/marble than wood, I'm in 100% agreement! That burl that nickbass79 posted makes me wonder if I made the right choice with that last piece of stellar Chestnut for my 5 string :D

And...with all these discussions going on, I absolutely don't know how I'm going to make it through 16 months of waiting...darn good thing I've already got one custom Fodera in residence!

Todd, when do you get your YY Deluxe in hand?

Our friends at Fodera really out did themselves on your bass, James! I'm just glad I got to play it first! :D

Pics, for those who can't see the video, or can't stand my playing (which would include me :).

34" or 35"?

I'll get to see/touch on Thu at the show, but I can't take it home until Sunday. I do have visitation rights during the show though :p

You're lucky you're local! I'm afraid I may have to let my NAMM pass go unused as it's just going to be really tough to fit a visit to LA in that weekend.

I was tempted to squeeze it in to get my bass end of day Sunday but.... what am I going to do? check it as oversized luggage on a United Airlines flight with no flight case? Better to let the couriers handle it....

Speaking of Donovan, there isn't a mute (stand by) switch on it?

Thanks for the kind words, Tom. I love dealing with you too! Guys, not a better dude than our own Tom7!

Nostatic had it right - active/passive, coil split and mid cut.

Donovan, what's the fingerboard wood on that six string?

Indian Rosewood. Oh, and it's 35" scale.

Isn't it possible to put a switch with three positions (like the old Monarch) to select one option out of three (mute; mid first freq; mid second freq) ?

You can download a copy of our preamp instructions here:

http://www.fodera.com/PublicPages/ProprietaryElectronics.aspx

Although all basses are now coming from the shop with the mid switch option (unless requested otherwise), it takes two minutes and a needle nose pliers to change it to a mute switch.

Cheers,

Jason

Donovan, thanks for making all those vids!

Are you kidding? Thanks for WATCHING them! I'm blown away that people like them and even watch them. It took me a long time to figure out why people like them so much and then finally I think I figured it out. I just might be the Rebecca Black of bass guitar! :D

I have a 09 Pope Preamp in my Emperor and can't do any of the possible features because the switch does some nasty crackles when used as a Mid switch selector or sth. like that.

Only the Mute switch version does work.

But that's fine since I love my Mute switch and play my Bass passiv all the time ;)

I'm also thinking of going full passiv on my new Imerial
