I posted something about this earlier. Thought I was crazy but the headstocks from the resent batches look different from basses past. They "seem" thinner? Again I think I'm crazy and you are following..lol

on the original fodera's the mute was a separate swictch. three way was nuetral in middle, treble boost one way bass and treble other way.

+1 on the crotch walnut. maybe my favorite "normal" non really exotic face wood.. ,

This is easily solved if you would like...you can contact us at:
[email protected]
and we can send you a replacement 2-pot board that will give you complete functionality with no issues. That was a glitch in the first version of the new Preamp. Just describe the issue you are having in the email and we will send you the new board to replace the old one with. Then you just need to send back the old 2-pot board. The only thing you will be responsible for is shipping costs of the old board back to us...

I have a 09 Pope Preamp in my Emperor and can't do any of the possible features because the switch does some nasty crackles when used as a Mid switch selector or sth. like that.
Only the Mute switch version does work.
But that's fine since I love my Mute switch and play my Bass passiv all the time
I'm also thinking of going full passiv on my new Imerial

Sure is...finished it last week. I will be posting a description in the Newborn section tomorrow. I wanted to get some more time with it under my fingers before doing the write-up. It's actually in my home studio at the moment as Christian and I still have to sync up (we live close to one another) so I can get the bass to him.
For those asking about the headstock shape about Christian's bass (as well as others), they are the same. We changed the angle at which the photos are shot and that is what's making the headstocks look different...
Finally, we CANNOT WAIT to hear what Christian does with this instrument. He's a beautiful human being and a MONSTER player and we hope that it gives him as much joy playing it as it gave us building it...

Yeah, I am GASing to replace my quilted ash top with a Walnut top. I used to own a Ken Smith Black Tiger (crotch walnut) fretless that was gorgeous. Walnut would've been my choice had I ordered a new Fodera instead of going used. Dark wood looks good when it's strapped on. I was just thinking about how In the URB world, people prefer dark over light finishes, at least in the US.
The other reason I've pined for a walnut top is that it will match my soon to be made new URB from Nick Lloyd, which will have a walnut back, ribs, neck, and scroll. How fun would that be to have an electric and URB that compliment each other!
Fortunately or unfortunately, my current Fodera sounds so good I'm not sure I would be willing to have a new one made, lest I not like it as much.A good problem to have.
Both of my Rob Allens are walnut tops (with chambered alder body) with walnut necks, and the body on the new YYD is chambered walnut. One of my favorite woods both aesthetically and sonically. I've had bad thoughts about some walnut topped Monarchs lately...
