jules was there friday and that was it. i mentioned that i thought you were there saturday but he was already on the way.

one of the high points of the nammage experience this year was seeing vinny's wife react to the whole thing. as far as i know she'd never been to cali, let alone namm.

i think it must have been a trip for her to see that her husband is a *legend* . . .

SO COOL!!!!

my new Bass has finally landed in my hands - without any doubt this Bass KILLS !!! They nailed exactly my tonal goals - the Bass KILLS in the mix, warm, punchy, attack, incredible sustain (for those who think only necktroughs do have great sustain ;))the neck plays itself, the bass is light, the smell is INCREDIBLE... the look is timeless & classy - I LOVE this Bass

Viceroy shaped Bass nr. 4 :)

The white one looks very nice!
When you say 'The bass is light', can you be a bit more specific?
What are the spec on this instrument?
Very nice looking indeed!:)

Wonderful Julian! The bass sounded fantastic too! You should post some clips here.

I can say anything else about the bass that all you guys wrote, fantastic! and great sounding (well it's a great player so... figure)

You should post that clip there so people can drool as I am... man it's really punchy and has sustain... I was blown how whole bass is passive and sounds like it doesn't need preamp :)

But again have to say that case look awesome!!! :hyper:

Too bad it's not a righty :hiding:

Congratz Julian!!!!

Dude, congratulations it looks beautiful.
I thought we would have seen it at the weekend, but I guess you got straight down to playing it.

You we're right about the white pup cases, black looks great. So, let us know all about the joy's of pure passive tone in the next few weeks.

Glad you mentioned the smell.. The new cases and the fresh smell of the finished bass just makes lovely scent there's nothing like it..

Enjoy in good health..

Funny you mentioned the smell.... My Emperor is shipping this week and even though I am pretty low maintenance generally, I made it crystal clear to my retailer that he does not even think about unpacking my bass until I get there!:bassist: first glimpse, touch.... And yes... Smell... ALL MINE! :help:

I can just imagine two guy's opening up a guitar case, then just starring and sniffing at what's inside. If you knew what the old cases smelt like, then this is bliss.

FWIW, here's a story I related to my distributor Dave Scovell of Ultimate Basses, a wonderful gent..

"I had an unfortunate accident with the MG. I got through customs and was waiting for a cab and decided to have a coffee. I placed my large Samsonite case next to a table & chair and stood the bass on end against them. This old guy (sorry, I'm not really ageist) comes along with a trolley of cases and tries to wade between tables, so the other guests ask him can't he go round the outside. I swear I thought he was backing up so I took my eye off him for a few seconds only to hear guitar case crash to the floor, it literally pole axed on it's side. What happened is that a young girl one table away decided to move the chair that my case and guitar were sitting against ... Boy was I not amused! She apologised and the old guy didn't say a word just shoved his 10 case trolley further into nest of tables. On inspection it looks fine although there's a little grazing to a couple of frets where the case lid & neck support were tight, but it's a great endorsement for the new styled case".

Sorry for a bit of a geeky question, but what kind of pots are on your bass?
