So the inception of fodera as a company predates the setting up of the workshop in Brooklyn?

It says 1989 on the website.

as far as I know they first had a very little shop somewhere else in Brooklyn... but some of the older guys here might know better

avenue O, i believe. i stopped there in 1986. not sure if there was a shop between that and the current shop or not.

if you can find that old brochure that's been posted here (jumbodbassman? bass walker?), i think it has the original shop's address on it.

Ave O it is. Back in 83. They were building basses for Ken back then and started making their own design. They had a original third guy who IIRC was ex navy guy who did the electronics stuff. I didn't miss him when he left the business. Very small shop but back then they were just 3 guys doing everything. i can't believe it is 30 years. Time to get emotional.....

Basswalker has the ad with his number 11 zebrawood bass in it...

yeah, in 86 i walked into the shop and said, "hey, aren't those smith headstocks?"

joey said, "yeah, we're still under contract to do some basses for him."
