Fodera Club Part XVIII

I don't know if you would be able to wind the B string without the outer rap making contact with the peg. That would be my only concern.

What stinks is I just changed a set out and would have been happy to send the old set to you to give it a try. :bawl:

Thanks anyway man, I just got an Email from Fodera that basically let me know that they wouldn't work for me, just too long, too bad. Wish they would consider making a shorter version! One of these days I will have my Fodera.

Dream Bass:

6 String Hybrid #2 (Semi-Hollow Body)
Alder "Core", Alder Tone Block
Walnut Back
Carved Spruce Top
3 Pc. Red Oak Neck
36" Scale, 28 Large Frets
Ebony FB, Blank
1 Seymour Duncan Dual Coil
No electronics
Titanium Bridge, Truss Rod

December 2013: Dreams come true :hyper:

Good catch. :smug:

This is the bass I'd use for my "nu-fusion-death-pop" project on the moon in 2035. Keep an eye out for that one, folks!

If it is as good as my #65, you will love it.

Be real cool to A/B and compare them but Toronto and Hawaii aren't exactly around the corner!:D

Post your impressions when you get it.:bassist:

Congrats!

No worries I'll post up, hopefully in a week or so. What I'm really curious is how the sound compares to my Fbass BN5, which I really love it's sound and I'm sure the E5S will be a compliment to to arsenal. LOL

I see that you're waiting on a new build, very cool. I think I'll have to wait a bit for the financial wounds to heal a bit. :D

I find that the E5S cuts better in the mix than the BN5 I played briefly. Also more versatile IME. George makes great basses though, but I think Fodera is at a different level. Just IMO.

I am "financing" the Monarch build by selling most of my other gear and saving some $$$$ too. A tiny bit uncomfortable, but can one really put a price on a cure for GAS?;)

Forgetting about physics, concepts, etc...

If you are going to have a B-string on a 33" scale instrument I think that it makes sense. It absolutely cannot hurt and, depending on who you talk to, it might help. For all other configurations there's really no need...but again, it absolutely cannot hurt.

Cheers,

J

I know this question is being answer already but, I couldn't find it. What is the benefit or the difference between the Regular B to an Extended B in the headstock?

We will pretty much make anything (within rason) if you buy 10 sets. I had some AJ-style exposed core sets made for me to try on my 34" scale Monarchs.

Hey there gang! I am going to be scarce for the next week as Joey and I are traveling to Japan to visit our friends / distributor there. I may be able to check in once or twice, but if not, I'll be back this time next week!

Cheers,

J
