I'd better explain that Loadsa money was fictional comedy character invented by the british comedian Harry Enfield. He's an obnoxious piece of work (a plasterer by trade) who thought nothing of flaunting and boasting about how much he earned. His catchphrase "Loads a money" was adopted by alot of the city-boy stock traders during the Thatcherite era. A horrible guy, but so funny..On a personal note I've been dealing with resolving my late Father's estate (a New Yorker) for nigh on 2.5 years and there's still a ways to go? So if there's one piece of advice I can throw out to all you guy's in this club it's "Write a will" and do it now not later..

I'm really thinking about getting my next Fodera. I got to unload a couple of basses first. Hopefully my Smith will find a home soon so he won't have to sit in the corner. Vinnie my E5S needs some company. Just trying to decide which body style to go with. This time with a 35" scale length and same top wood scheme as the E5S. Maybe 6 strings this go around but bolt on for that punchy attack. Vinnie's big brother. LOL
Been trying to get my father in law to do that for years but to no avail. Semi retired violinist that is still teaching students at age 89, recovered from a stroke 2 years ago and fiercely independent. Not much estate wise except for a few violins that are his babies. One of them was used to play the Elvis from Hawaii concert in 1973 I believe so that one has a lot of sentimental value.
You lasted longer than I did.
I ordered my 2nd (Monarch 5) within a few weeks of getting my E5S. Lots of casualties too.... My MTD, Spector, a new Fender 5er and 2 Modulus are gone. Absolutely no regrets either.
Man, I hear you they are the toughest..Glad to know he's still strong and able to teach at"89" that's great. Sounds like you'll need a lot of cunning and strategy to get a will out of him..Appeal to his better nature by any means necessary, buy the Elvis CD and get him to pose with the violin and CD, tell him it's keepsake for the grandchildren but not before cracking open a bottle of his favourite wine. Then ask " So whatcha going to do with that ole violin when you retire?" Watch his facial expression but more importantly watch out for the upper-cut he might throw.

I'm thinking about medium density ash (may be semi hollow) and ash (or alder) toneblock. 34", 17.5mm string spacing. And yes, I dig Emperor II shapes

Ok, but I'd research the semi-hollow option because your thinking medium density and then reducing that by chambering.

I don't have any experience with semi-hollow, just know that the bass will be lighter. What do you suggest, guys?
What is that you didn't like about your MG6? I was drooling over that. It would've make a great partner to my ash/br RW imperial elite 5.

Yeah, Im selling two other brand basses and consolidating. My imperial ruined me to most others.
Give me the specs ill make one for you as long as I can find comparable basses in the newborns. This bass was easy to mock up, just needed single coils. I'm a sucker for old school quilt tops.

True story..after leaving an all night recording session if memory serves me well around '1996' in central London, I walked into a Newsagents and at the counter was Harry Enfield. Strangely Harry had a cricket bat (like a baseball bat but meaner and heavier) in hand, Payed for his goods and walked out. My brother and I who was with me at the time thought "Damn he needs some insurance even to go to the store at 6:30am?" I guess the character had rubbed some people the wrong way and he'd received some unsavoury attention..

Uncle Lenn's giving you a hint! Why not start again, re-think from the ground-up but forget about looks, just concentrate on the tone in mind, find audio samples as close to as possible that bear similarities to what you'd like to achieve then email Jason at the shop.
He will help you to breakdown and distinguish the component parts of the tone your trying to achieve with possible wood combinations and pup configurations. Don't set a deadline just ask as many questions as you need. Otherwise you will experience Ground Hog day.
