You're right! Yet there are still some that don't get it. Unfortunately I learned the hard way but I'm glad to be working with some of the best!

Thumbs up to Mike and Dan Tobias along with Charlie Kniceley at MTD. Always a true gentleman Mike is and a gifted luthier IMHO.

Sadly, not really. Part of that tone IS the density (and therefore weight) of the woods...the woods on the Garrison Standard get close, but not exactly there and the bodies are still Walnut...

I worked with a guy who made his living expenses in college (drinking money, basically) by donating plasma which you can do like twice a week. You don't get paid for blood, but you do for plasma, and I think it is like $30-ish. That was a long time ago, too.

I'm only half-kidding about that, but I am more and more convinced that I'm going to find a way to get a Fodera before I turn 50. I've got 6 years left!

I picked up this MG Sig from Glenn over at Austin Bass Traders and it is really a phenomenal machine...:bassist:

It is Horse Chestnut over Walnut Body/Alder Tone Block and a fine Ebony FB over Ash Neck.

It has a thick, defined, richness to the tonal signature and is a really balanced instrument... Supremely resonant! Playability/ergonomics are quite quick and facile - this is a fast bass to get around on - really inspires chordal play and quick arpeggios.

I am seriously considering adding a second MG Sig to have one tuned E-to-C and the other B-to-G...:hyper:

These are such superb instruments...

The instructions for the 2010 preamp refer to " low mids, medium mids, and hgh mids". What are we looking at in terms of frequencies (hz)? Right now I'm guessing but I'm often wrong!
I'm posting this here because I thought others maybe curious ut maybe everyong already knows but me! Thanks!!

Go to Mr. Pope's website and send him an email. He is great about tech support and helping through your options too. I think the frequency points are adjustable depending on the Rev
