Congrats! Looks to be a beautiful instrument, and I'm sure she plays and sounds amazing!

Approaching the 2 year mark with my emperor 5, and I have to agree with it being an amazing experience playing these fine basses!

Actually, it sounded great for everything; I can tell how much better my Fodera sounds then other basses I've had in the studio or board recordings a ton.

Of course you still have to get the right strings. Joey also suggested to me to set the mids to Hi and then cut them a little on the Pope pre, and it's a great Marcus style slap tone.

I sure am excited about the BR fretboard bass coming in January. Seems like a very unique tonewood. I went with a 34" scale on it and a thinner nut. I'm going to have my 33" shaved for the same spec. Several really cool projects in the works ill be posting some recordings of soon.

good choice - I did that also on my Viceroy 5 ( it is 1 26/32" or 4,6 cm for the European guys ;) - a Pre CBS PBass has 4,5 cm at the nut for comparison) while keeping the 19mm on the bridge.... perfect feel to my hands.

That's funny, I also have a thinner nut on Imperial 5. I can't quite recall, I think 16th" smaller than standard. 19mm at bridge. Subtle but feels great to my small hands.

I played my first Pre CBS Fender (64 P) after getting my Imperial last year and was amazed at how thin the neck and nut were, especially in lower positions. That stuck with me. And yes, it sounded amazing too!

Yeah, I grew up playing a vintage jazz, string spacing was tight @ the nut. That's what Im most comfortable with.

The AJ presentation was the first single cut bass I took notice of. I remember first seeing one while watching a performance of the song Étude live with Lee Ritenour and Anthony Jackson on a Today Show episode way back when. Very distinctive, almost like a large version of a classical guitar. Even through the TV speaker, what a sound. In listening to a the Festival Album again recently, what a great sound, piano like clarity with a low B that made me go out and purchase a better set of headphones that could do justice to those guttural bass notes. Needless to say, that tonal aura remains in my head and becomes the standard that I use to define the kind of tone I look for. Somehow I think the larger body mass contributes to the sustain and resonance of the low B. An incredible instrument in the hands of the 6 string master, priceless.

Like always, the fodera crew was a class act as I picked up my MGS which had some touch ups to make her perfect again and chatted about my simple :) upcoming build. This was only my second time seeing Vinny in person and it was so cool to see him in his element. He was like a kid in a candy shop trying to show me all his projects he's working on, and Jason was trying to get him back to work :), I'm glad Vinny was winning out because I got to see some really cool things today. It amazed me how passionate Vinny still is for his craft and how excited he was to show me his work.

He is working on an amazing inlay piece that is super geeky awesomeness and will blow your minds. Jason and Vinny also showed me the master's new hybrid which is awesome and the gloss neck is just butter to feel. There's no way I could ever play that beast, it's huge and at the same time amazing how lightweight it is for its size.

Again Jason, you and Vinny made me feel like I was your only customer the way you treated me and worked out all my custom options and my extremely detailed nuances that make for a perfect bass to me. Thanks again, and tell Vinny how much I appreciated his time today.
