Fodera Club Part XXV

Has anyone taken a deep breath and bought a Fodera without ever having played one?
If so, what has been the experience?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Am I being totally off the wall??

Thanks for the feedback LakeEffect, steubig, Nostatic and Kamakiriad7.
Of course my GAS has ratcheted up a few notches as a result - but then I asked for it, didn't I!

Kamakiriad7, your reasoning behind starting with a Standard is the same as mine....only I hope to heaven that if (actually,I should say when) I finally do manage to acquire it, that it does not become my gateway drug.

But I will not pay it off because then i need a reason to go visit the shop at least 2 more times before my build is ready. I want to make 3 more visits to Fodera shop. One for payment, one for updates, and final for pickup.

ugh isn't it just SO convenient being RIGHT NEAR the Fodera shop and just being able to go in and hang and look/play sick basses and hang with all the cool Fodera people whenever we want? :hiding: :D

Do y'all prefer Tube or Solid State amps with your Fodera basses?

Yes

I think we all do our best playing when we Believe in what we are playing. That confidence and swagger you get when you feel like your tone is something special. You feel like a badass, and you play great. In the internet world of analysis and deconstruction, that is the first thing you lose. Anything you can do to capture that feeling is worth it, but there is absolutely no guarantee that a 10k bass is going to do it. But if it does for you ... then it does.

No biggie. Just a quick 10 hour drive for me to visit the Fodera folks.

Of course, NYC doesn't suck either.:hyper:

I make a family vacation out of it. 4 - 5 nights in NYC seeing the sights..... spend some time at the shop to get my new Fodera and hang out with the fine Fodera folks....better than Disney IMO.

In any case, Anything really cool going on music-wise between Feb 22-25 in NY? While I am there I would love to see some live music.... Rock, jazz.... I'm not picky. 55 Bar (I like it as it is close to where I stay in Hoboken) or anywhere recommended by the fine Fodera Club folks works for me.
