Maybe if you can find a used MGS
The last five years I have seen 5 Foderas with 16.5 mm spacing
And most have been mine.
Just no way to get those specs for $7200, or I'd own that one by now.

How is the new MG coming along?
It looks like Fodera added a third pickup to Tom Kennedy's signature model in this picture (not the TK standard, his original signature model). Interesting, wonder how it works?
What is the difference in tone between the nickel and stainless strings? I would have thought the stainless would be brighter, but the YY is really bright, and it has the nickel? Also could there be a matrix in the near future showing what strings came on a bass originally? I think the old site listed them in the specs for each bass. Thanks!

IMHO, it's overkill. I believe that his signature bass sounded better before we put the third pickup in it...
Although Tom is way too kind to say anything, that may be one of the reasons that it's been in the shop since several weeks after the third PUP was added. He has been playing a stock E5S for the past two years...

I am not sure that forum rules allow me to post pricing information. What I will say is that both the TKS and E6S are the same List Price and if they are not already on the price list that is on the website, they will be by the end of the day.

Eventually we will have a demo video on our website, but that is going to take a while. If you have heard an Emperor 5 Standard you have heard all but the C-string of the E6S...they sound remarkably similar (as they should).

I will say that my Monarch 5 strung E-C in 34" scale has a wonderful sounding C-string. Very balanced with the rest of the instrument.

IME nickel vs ss have different spectra tonally. I like them both, but predominantly use ss. Best advice is to try them both and pick the one you like. The differences are tough to describe.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but what's the theory with the larger / single pole piece on the c string? Balance the volume of it with the other strings?

Picture #2 Man wins by a mile, it's that killer sombrero. As for the EII it looks comfortable for your playing position. I wear my basses a little higher, so not sure how it would feel. Gotta try one, that's the only way to tell.

To generalize, I would say SS is brighter and harder on the fingers and frets. I don't find Fodera SS strings to be rough at all though. Fodera strings are all I use on all of my basses. Amazing strings.
Yeah, I hear you and depending on our exacting demands it's the only way to go.
My MG6 got it's 1st ding last week; don't know how it happened as i'm pretty careful with it (that's putting it politely). It's only a small ding on the rear heel of the upper body, but man it hurt to see the thing.
I remember when Jazzkuma's new love suffered it's 1st ding and he couldn't help but feel upset. I know...it's all part of the life of any instrument, but I'm thinking of getting something that I won't be too precious about, that I can take anywhere, take apart and not sweat about that sort of thing. So the standards are on my radar.

I agree. I also like different strings for different basses. On my older basses, like my Spector that is alder-rosewood w/ emg pups, I really liked stainless steel. But on my EII 6 string, mahogany-rosewood and dual coils, I don't dig the steel as much. In the other hand, the nickels are killer on the EII.
