Hello gang...I am just back from vacation and have not been checking in while I was away.

I did, however, notice two questions from the closed thread that I will answer here...

1. Have any Tom Kennedy Standards shipped to Dealers yet?

No, we do not start shipping them until April 1st...the one we brought to the NAMM Show was the Pre-Production Prototype that Tom is now out on the road with.

2. What's up With Victor's New Bass?

Vic was at the shop this past Tuesday to go over final design and necessary carving for a new instrument that will allow him to play both fingerstyle AND with a bow. Yes, those of you that noticed the extremely tight radius of the FB were on the right track and, yes, the bridge will be crafted almost completely in-house as we have not found anything on the market that fits the bill. Stay tuned!

Kindest regards,

Jason

Ummm.... WITH WHAT??? :)

I think you might have a couple, right? I wouldn't mind seeing pics again. :)

Thanks Vic..here you go one from the past and one pretty recent:

The imperial just looks so good

I played an Imperial 5er in NYC late today during my travels and I loved the feel of it. A bit heavy (ash or alder body) but very comfy ergonomically. The shape is growing on me for sure but my wife (who was there) hates how basically anything singlecut looks. To each their own for sure.

I currently own a Emperor but IME the Monarch shape just suits me better.

Any pictures from your visit?

I am in...Played a GREAT 90's Fodera yesterday and REALLY dug the neck profile!! One of the best I have ever felt if not the BEST! Strings were dead a couple of years ago so I didn't really get to hear her true voice but what I FELT was amazing!

SO I have a question for Jason...If I can get that bass sent up to the shop and measured in every way can I get my Emperor Standard 5 Special neck shaped EXACTLY like this one? Better yet can you shave my neck AND set mine up exactly like this bass? The setup was PERFECT for me....Everything about it was perfect for me....It really made me dig the Dovetail!!!!! OMG!! NOT sure how much of what I felt had to do with the Dovetail though? The string tension was perfect, the action was perfectly even from the nut to the bridge and low but clean. I typically like the lowest action I can get and still have the bass play cleanly with a moderately light to aggressive touch. This one was the bomb!

Thanks for any info you can share!

Peace,

T

wondering if he's gonna use regular roundwounds on this.

I just picked up an emperor standard special and your description above fits this bass to a T. Great feeling neck and extremely low and clean set up.

Ryan.
