Fodera Club Part XXVII

Thanks guys, im so excited. I was expecting to have a bad day, but that really turned my day up. The only bad thing about living in NY is that i have to pay taxes on the bass. I personally hate paying taxes. I was not about to pay over $1100 in taxes, so a good friend of mine is letting me get the bass shipped to his house and I will just go pick it up from him in NJ. Shipping is only $45, which is exactly $1100 cheaper than what the taxes were gonna be.

Victor will be excited to know that I touched that bass.:smug:

I got to check it out in Brooklyn. Not my thing at all, but it is kinda neat and the workmanship is top notch as usual. Original instrument to say the very least. I guess there was no way around the weird side cutouts due to it being able to be played with a bow.

Congrats! Getting close. You must be going nuts.:woot:

When I picked up my Fodera Custom, I purposely stayed in Hoboken for this very reason.

In Canada, my tax is 13% and my dollar is down almost 10% since I placed my order for Monarch #2. I think my Mango Monarch will be my last large US purchase for a while.:rollno:

Mango, that sounds interesting. I contemplated having it shipped to an empty lot in NJ and I would just wait outside until FedEx comes.

I know right? Songyi is sick! check out her own stuff too. I hope we can release a vinyl too, thanks for listening!

Can you provide a link to Songyi's solo material?

Keep up the great work. I hope Crosswalk Anarchy makes it up to Canada some time soon. We'll be down to visit Fodera in August or September. Perhaps the band will be playing some where close by during our stay.

That's the new Bow Bass that we just finished for Vic. It is really a prototype design. Vic wanted to be able to play both fingerstyle and with a bow. We will see what he thinks and learn from it!

It does have a preamp in it...the Standard Preamp.

J

WHAT THE WHAT. Victor Wooten new Fodera.

I played the Monarch at an outdoor gig tonight. Was very comfortable and sounded great. I was curious how much it weighed, 7.8lbs! Wonder if that is a new record..lol

yeah she has some videos up on youtube of her live stuff but you can check out her soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/songyijeon

We are mostly playing between NYC and Boston but we had a show in Burlington, VT a while ago, so hopefully we can make further up to Canada too! Just played at shapeshifter earlier this month which is really close to Fodera. I actually also need to stop by Fodera soon. Ill keep you posted if we get a show around Brooklyn during those months!
