afaik you would have to pay GST, brokerage and an import duty if your ordered directly....

on a piece of that price it would be worth driving across the border if you are anywhere close....

A Canadian dealer will have already paid the duty and import etc - but then you would also be paying HST not just GST.....

The lucky folks out in BC had the opportunity to vote down the dreaded HST. As soon as I get the word from the tax folks, Fodera basses going to BC will be charged just the GST along with Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec.

Ontario and the Atlantic provinces are stuck with the HST.

As correctly mentioned in a previous post, no duty is levied due to the NAFTA agreement.

The good news is that we cover all shipping and brokerage charges on basses coming from Brooklyn to Canada. And in most cases, FedEx ground shipping to your address is also no charge, for both Canadian and lower 48 states customers.

I posted this picture over in the amps forum since it mainly commemorates the completion of my second BFM Jack 10 cab. But it has my Yin Yang in it, so worth a double post IMHO.

The whole family: YYS, SX SJB (gathering dust these past couple weeks I'm afraid), the two Jack stack, Carvin BX500, and GK MB200.

I was taking with Jason about this earlier today. The first 30 YYSs sold out way faster than he predicted. Demand was so high that they increased the number they were going to build eventually to 90. If you stop and think about it, that is phenomenal for a small builder and a testament to the whole shop for coming up with the concept and executing on-time and at such an incredible level of quality/consistency.

I played the E5Std today. It is sick. Totally sick. I have no doubt that all 60 will be spoken for in short order. Then it will just be a question of whether or not they'll add another 30 to the production queue. I joked to Jason that the Stds are also a gateway drug to the Deluxes. I fear that a Monarch 5 is probably lurking in my future after some of the other things I have in-progress are finished.

Guys, if you keep this up you are going to be in as much trouble as I was BEFORE I was a partner here and my wife realized that somehow I had managed to buy 12 Fodera Monarchs without her realizing it. The look on her face when she counted the cases for the first time was priceless, but the conversation following the look is a tad less enjoyable to remember...

Thank goodness she is understanding AND forgiving!
