Folding Cart

I've been toying around with the idea of getting one of those Milwaukee Tool PackOut rolling tool boxes. I figure I can put all my assorted musical gear in the box (maybe even a small amp), stack 1, perhaps 2 cabs on the box, sling the bass over the shoulder, and off I go.

Dunno.

A lot of good suggestions here to consider.

I really like my Rock-N-Roller cart. It doesn’t fold up flat like some of the lighter weight hand trucks, but it doesn’t take up too much room in the back of my SUV. I carry all of my gear plus the full PA and can still fit it in.

FWIW, I actually bought it five years ago when our son started college. At his freshman orientation we figured out that his dorm would be pretty far from the closest place we could park and that’s when I bought it. It turned out to be really useful for moving him in to and out of his dorms and apartments while he was still in school. It took a few years, but then I finally had a lightbulb moment and realized I could use it, too.

I have one like that. I think for your 2x 110 cabs it would be fine as long as you take it easy over kerbs and pull on the cabs getting it onto the wheels rather than wholesale levering the base.

I've have one just like that for years, semi-permanently bolted to a '90's era Ampeg BA-115 combo amp. Amp specs said the combo weight was around 65lbs, but I always felt it was more. Came in quite handy, never failed!
Getting ready to sell said amp, I think I may include the cart as well.

I bought this at Harbor Freight. It was on sale and I used a 20% off coupon and got it for about $95. It does pretty much everything the rock and roller carts do. And it's light!

I was about to buy the Milwaukee folding cart but the reviews were not great. Not surprising for something that cost $30-40. Its always a combination of so awesome!!!!! and 'it broke when I looked at it.'

What is your cart experience?
Plan on using it for 2 Eden 1x10 cabs and maybe the WT400 head, but I do have a bag for that for I could easily shoulder the bag.

I got one of these and a couple of bungee cables and have had zero problems. It’s a little more expensive but better to spend a little more money and get more and better use IMHO.

I had a Home Depot Milwaukee cart that broke on a cold day under a fairly light load. I replaced it with a Magna Cart I found on Amazon and no such problems after two years. I think it was more like $60, but well worth it.

Believe it or not, I use it when needed for a Genz Benz Uber 4x10, it handles it like a champ! I think this is what the OP is getting, you won't be disappointed!

I have one of these and it is well-built, works feat and is pretty flexible...meaning it can be configured in different ways. fold down fairly small.

Maybe I’m just a gorilla, (who lives in the land of potholes and darkness) but I’ve never had luck with something held together With cotter pins, or made of aluminum. I also am too big to drive a subcompact, so the “folding” thing is secondary. I still have one or two hanging around, but about 10 or 12 years ago I found a small two wheeler that is one welded piece of steel with 5 inch “solid” PE wheels. Can easily be squeezed into any load. I bought it at Sears for under 15$. If I expect rough terrain I secure the cab etc. with bungees or rope. I have mostly lighter gear at this point, my main cab being a 2x15” that weighs 60 lbs.
If I started hauling PA gear again, I would expect to pay 100$+ for something truly durable. Or, have nice light gear I could haul with my two wheeler.

I have the Harbor Freight version. I think it was around $20. It works great for my Epifani 410 and Eden WT550. I use a bungee cord to stabilize it. Used it going up and down stairs with no issues.

I have been using the Magna Cart almost every weekend for a few years for my Genz 2x12, very similar but much better quality than the Milwaukee. Handles curbs and stairs well.

I have one of these, use it to haul an old Acoustic 2X15 cabinet. Works very well and is super convenient as it folds down pretty small. Rolls well. The only "problem" I have is that it's a bit hard to fold up, but that's not too big an issue.

I opted for something with more girth. But I can load 2 single 18 subs, 2 hipacks and my smaller bass rig in one load. It was worth every penny. (Harbor freight $139 now, I paid $99)

Got a similar one to Receder's except mine has a folding tongue. Can haul everything in one trip in multiple configs AND handy for other "life" things. Only issue is they're bulky and semi-heavy. I see now they've raised the price on them too.

I have this cart - it’s heavy and kind of bulky when my car is loaded down with gear. BUT - it does work great and is very sturdy.

My favorite is my Tri-Kart, by Remin - Todd Johnson recommended this kart at one of his clinics I went to probably almost 20 years - I picked one up and have loved it - after LOTS of use it’s held up well - the only thing I’ve done is replace the bungie straps. Folds down small!

I have this in my amazon cart after looking at a bunch of videos and reviews here and elsewhere. It's pricey at ~300 though which is why i havent actually bought it. Looks well thought out for heavy stuff.

Another vote for the Rock 'n Roller. We've used an R2 for years. Never had a problem, and easy to configure in various ways. I've often used it to haul 2 bass cabs + a bunch of other live sound gear at one swipe, and I have no doubt that it could easily handle much more weight. Not cheap but well worth it.
