Agreed - the body is "quirky" the pickguaerd is just not well executed - and I'm one of the ones who likes this.

I would play the hell out of a long scale version of that, if it was cheap. Like under $500 cheap.

Glad to see the range of reactions. Everything was ugly in the 70s... Ford Pintos, Chevy Vegas... there were P-Basses in awful finishes (YES ANTIGUA IS HIDEOUS] that also weigh 50 pounds..no shortage of sucky stuff back then, also uglified EB O and EB -3 basses... . but this bass is particularly unloved.
They actually sound good when setup right, w/ that blade Supertron. Just natural and red stain finish. I would get a natural and have it redone in candy apple red.... CAN YA RELATE
Oddly enough the guitars did not have adjustable truss rod, but the Japanese sourced pickups are loud as hell.

I did use one for a while and loved confounding vintage P bass snobs with it, since I owned and played P-bass #0186.
TK 300 rules at least in my alternative reality. There were some ugly 70s Ovation basses also.
When I first saw what it looked like, it kind of reminded me of those old Soviet block basses. Definitely cool.

Everything about it is so wrong that it is perfect in all ways. You cannot improve on that bass.
