I play a '74 Ripper as my main bass so I have known and embraced dorky.
But when it comes to a complete lack of looks, that sorry puppy blows even a Ripper out of the water. And that pickguard and hearstock! They're the visual embodiment of the word 'sardonic' if there ever was one. Talk about well played.
Now how cool is that?
If there's even one decent sound to be found in it I'd definitely rock one! (Is my inner 'punk' showing a bit?)

There are 2 guitar versions on ebay right now with prices around the $1,200 mark, then TBer Fat Freddy dug up your bass on Reverb.com that sold for about $850 with shipping back in 2015.
It looks like the price for "dork" is pretty expensive for what a buyer actually gets. A cheesy short scale, low quality bass.

If you are into dork, you could always buy a real bass and put stickers on it of Bambi, test tubes, a hot rod Kia, Mr. Rogers, Scooby Doo.......etc.

How is that uncool? It's like a PBass had an illicit rendezvue with a Ric 450 in an alleyway out back of the pawn shop. I never even knew that existed and yet I've always wanted one.
I play at the back of the stage, mostly in the dark, so noone really sees me most of the time. Still, I wouldn't want to take a chance at even sort of being seen wearing that. If someone gave one to me, I could reshape the headstock, but the pickguard? I'm guessing it was the safety guard on a discontinued model of industrial cheese slicer, and they had a couple thousand left over, and sold them to Gretsch for a buck a piece or something. No way would a sober individual design that from scratch to go with that body (the body itself is almost normal, not sure how that happened). The other nice thing you can say is it isn't quite as ugly as the guitar version, what with the twisted pickup thing. But, of course, that's like saying you're attractive when standing next to the Elephant Man.
