For those with 5 or more basses...

This is a really tough question... I think I could pick my favorite child easier than my favorite bass.

Currently have 7 basses. Can narrow it down to 3.

Peavey Dyna Unity Series w/ Koa body. Super comfortable, looks awesome, sounds even better.

Peavey Foundation 5. Have owned this one the longest, 2nd bass I ever owned. I have neglected this bass the past few years, but have put more mileage on it than any 2 others combined.

Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV. What can I say... It's beautiful, has thunderous tone, and weighs more than my 4x10/1x18 stack (jk). But seriously, probably my favorite.

Of the seven in the toolbox, the Lakland fretted Deluxe 4-94 is the "go to" bass. Sits in any mix well, versatile useable sounds, stable and reliable, and comfy to wear and to play. Second is the '83 Fender VS '62 P. The ultimate P sound for me with the perfect neck- very wide at a full 1.75" and (the critical dimension) very shallow front-to-back. With the flats that make it found best it's just not quite as right for some situations as is the Lakland.

I am really liking this Maestro 5 string Sting Ray ... I love the look and the tone. With the Audere 4 band preamp it has a little bit of a different voice than a normal Sting Ray. It sounds a little more organic and less hifi than a normal Sting Ray.

Tonight, my 91 Stingray with rounds! Tomorrow, who knows...

This^

You can't ask which is my favorite. You have to ask what is my favorite TODAY! Sure my 6 string Alembic fretless is amazing. But my cheapo Carlo Robelli 8 string is ALSO amazing in a totally different way? You can't compare apples and oranges.

At one time or another I was in love with each one of my basses. It's why I bought them! And I'm sure that sooner or later I'll be in love with each of them again. It's why I haven't sold them!

Come on! Modulus, Ken Smith, Stingray, G&L, Carvin Acoustic, Fender Jazz? You want me to choose which is my "favorite"? Well it's the one that best fits the music I'm playing TODAY!

Yesterday I just had to replace the mids pot on my Fender Deluxe V and it was my "favorite" once it was fixed. But today I'm playing my SX fretless 5er. I LOVE that bass! I think it's my favorite today! $99? Old headstock. Killer bass. What's not to love?

I've only recently added instrument number five, a Squier Jaguar which is currently waiting for a pickup transplant. My favorite of all is my '09 Dingwall Super P/J four string. It is the most ergonomic bass I've ever strapped on. The FD-4 precision pickup is sonic perfection to my ears.

I just got bass number 6, a fretles six string, and at the moment I can't seem to put it down, I love it... now I don't know weather that is because it's the new boy, or because I just like it better, but I have been GASing for a fretles six for quite some time!
