It's always healthy to see relatively to see a track in a large nation regularly hold a major motorsports event... but I gotta say all the F1 races at COTA have left me wanting more. I've visited the track and while it's very nice, but the racing never seems to compare to the events at Bahrain, Baku, Austria, Spa, Monza, Interlagos and more. Perhaps it's because the domestic location doesn't feel exotic to me... but it seems like very year, a large chunk of excitement for the COTA event is in the pre-race happenings and showcasing the celebrities present. Gee, how American = puke.
The Ferrari top brass had to have pulled their hair out again today over Sainz's early incident. How many times is this guy gonna crash out after qualifying up front? Regardless of who's at fault, Sainz is a crash magnet... a talented crash magnet, but still a crash magnet.
How the heck was it possible that Alonso was able to continue after his accident today? I still can't believe the Alpine wasn't more damaged after all that. Btw, that was a stupid accident... should've been avoided.
Tim Cook's waving of the checkered flag had to be one of the worst I've ever seen in racing. Wow... haha!
Red Bull's spending breach is also something that shouldn't have happened. I really don't like the team was able to overspend by $5 to $7 million dollars and get away with it... just not right on a colossal scale. Who's to say their success this year wasn't tied in? Hopefully, a sensible solution can be found.
If Danny Rick ends up as a Red Bull reserve driver, I'm gonna be floored. He quit the team and Christian said lots of not-so-nice things about him in the aftermath. I'm just shocked they don't have other driver options in their system.
