Found a cool old bassist, need some help?

Don't know if you're still looking for a bass, but I have a fretless SX 5-string Jazz that I'd be willing to donate straight-up. Stock, except for CTS pots and Switchcraft jack. It's in good shape. Only thing it needs is new strings.

It says you're in NYC. I'm just over the GWB in northern NJ. If you've got a set of strings for it (and maybe a gig-bag), I've got a bass you can have.

Wow. And you, too, LanEvo.

And GE and Andre000-someone has got to let us know when the reunion actually happens.

Last year we had the crazy, zany $50 Mystery Bass Support Group right around the holidays. This year we have this hopefully successful, heart-warming spectacle unfolding before our internet eyes.

I'm a sucker for great story like this too!

This reeks of scaminess...

my neighbors father just spoke with ANDRE about an hour ago and we all listened in to validate his claims. NO SCAM HERE GUYS AND GALS!!! andre was offered help with transportation by us to and from airports should he need it.
he was over-whelmed by all the support from all here at TB and asked that you all be thanked! i will give an update as soon as andre speaks to his brother. im sure he and GE will post first, but i can confirm also.
btw, we live about 30 miles from him!!!

i'm absolutely stunned to see something like that good part of human nature i can read about in this thread.
great to see that there are people around the world who care for others without any prejudice or reservation!
though there had been some similar initiative in a german board i usually post in for a girl that was forced by the state to pay all the money she earned in holidays ('cause her mum was unemployed... quite complex structure here in germany) I must admit
- and that's the somehow sad truth - that such a fast and warm help for someone people don't even know themselves would be absolutely impossible to organize here in germany.

thats some kinda good human brotherhood!
more people all over the world should stand together like yours here on TB...
