wow i just read every post in this thread and its 6:15am here. i dont even know what to say other then this is amazing. i hope everything turns out well.

to GE if he needs an amp pm me i have a hartke combo that i havent used in 3 or 4 years that still works that id be happy to donate. its a 15" 140watt combo not the smallest of combos but not bad. let me know.

I'll be quick. I stumbled on this via another site, have read through everything, and have had my heart warmed (no small feat in this frigid weather). I trust it inspires us all to be better people, to be open to the opportunity of sharing our hearts, and to search for ways we can contribute to the bass/world community as a whole. As witnessed - kindness is contagious. Bless GE and all who, by their actions, would endeavor to make this rock a better place.

Although I have a cynical side, I have lately come to realize the world isn't as bad as I have believed in the past. Sometimes we protect ourselves by thinking that there are crooks everywhere and no one cares, but really the world is full of good, caring people and we have to choose to be open to that.

We have to choose to allow God's blessing in our lives, and choose to bless others while we are here, in whatever way we can.

This thread is a small example of what is possible just thru random acts of kindness.

This makes me proud to call myself a Talkbasser! I keep getting choked up about this as my family, atleast my father's side, treat each other like crap because of property disputes. I am so glad that this family can be reunited. I say we beat down GE's door and take him to the local bass shop to let him pick out something. This is so much better than the bickering that has kept me dormant for so long. So much love on here right now and it's all thanks to the selfless act of one helluva kind person. Thanks for represnting talkbass GE and I wish Andre and Butch and the rest of the fam all the best.

The internet truly is an amazing thing.

Seriously, not but a few weeks ago, an estranged cousin of mine, whom I had never met but was aware of, got in touch with my sister via facebook. They havent seen each other since they were 6years old, theyre both 32 now. Oh, the power of the internet!

A few years ago, I went to a combination concert and birthday party for a member of another forum (The Hammer from eBassist for all of you who are in both places). Clatter played, and Amy from Clatter had a Waterstone bass to give away as a raffle prize.

I won the bass. :)

At the time, I had like 5 other basses, and really didn't "need" the Waterstone, so I made arrangements and donated it to the music department of my former high school (where I got my start playing bass) to replace theirs that had been stolen/disappeared since I left in '93.


That's about as cool as I've done.

Also have helped collect/donate music gear to a local charity (Twilight2Dawn) here in KC to put gear in schools...


Pay it forward indeed. :)
